As Miss Hawkeye will be quite busy doing background work on the Olympics, this round of Resistance will return to its original format. There will be no story to accompany the missions, but everything else will work the same as usual.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Well that vote should tell you just about all you need to know. Devi I recommend you play Strong Leader immediately and put this circus back in order. We know who the Resistance is at this point. The longer we let Yeti, Joseph and Sal stir the pot the more murky it gets.

DW, it's so close to me, I'm almost the leader; don't take it away! :D I promise, if it gets to Yeti, you can strong-arm leadership away from him, but I want ONE turn. jroepel and I are the only two generally accepted by most of the players here; no skipping over us. Please :D If you're stealing from a confirmed Resistance player, you're up to no good.

Does anyone dispute the "Bela is Resistance" thing? That's the only thing I have down in this game, and even somebody outside the game can work out that I'm definitely Resistance (that's not so much because of my actions as it because of the situations I've been in. I'll take it! :D). That way, you're all ahead of me by at least one step; you know (at least) your own allegiance in addition to mine.

So, I have a wacky idea. Justin/jroepel, could you propose the same team (yourself, Joseph and me) again? I'll vote YES this time; if it passes, I could get some powers. It's our best bet for this mission anyway because of the way jroepel and Joseph are linked (and this is the last mission we need 3 players for; if we can get 3 right, that'd be nice). Joseph, jroepel, and Yeti, I'm counting on you voting YES (if jroepel does propose the same lineup, which he hasn't yet had a chance to do, I know) again.

Sal, do you suspect either Joseph or jroepel of being a spy? If jroepel proposes the same team again, vote it through. If it goes sideways, we'll know something for sure; if not, that's a win for the Resistance. I believe we can figure something out with this team, something I couldn't from any other team for sure. If you feel there's a reasonable chance of DW, Yeti, and Molly being the spies, this team's clean, or as clean as you can hope for it to be without being on it yourself. If jroepel proposes the same team, vote YES.

That sounds like a good idea, Bela. Sal could even use his SPOTLIGHT power on one of the two. Personally I think that this team should be spy-free, but it pays not to put all your eggs in one basket. I'd suggest using the power on Joseph, as out of the three she's the most likely to be a spy if there is one.

I've got nothing to hide, so go ahead and put the spotlight on me. Once we win Mission 3 and proven the team is clean, we can use the same ppl plus one more, and it doesn't matter which one since Mission 4 requires two sabotages for the spies to win.

My point is that with this team, on this mission, we don't need to use the SPOTLIGHT card (and not because I'm oh-so-confident it will succeed). Sal, please(!) hold onto it for the fourth mission. jroepel, I hope you're onboard with this too.

Um. Molly, what did you mean by your last post? That vote went the way you wanted it to, didn't it? And what do I make of your suggestion to have DW play her card and skip our turns? I'm really very touchy about that.

There's no point in using it in the fourth mission is there? Spies can't realistically allow this mission to be a SUCCESS, as they'd need to get two spies onto the next mission to win. So if this mission is a SUCCESS, then we've won. This is really the best chance to use the SPOTLIGHT card, as should it fail Joseph will be completely out of arguments. It'll be plain for everyone to see she's a spy, without having to go through why it logically must be so.

I'm going to let Justin pick a team, although I can't promise it's going to reach you Bela.

Bela, my point was the two people most likely to be spies in this game voted YES. Wanting to skip your turn is not personal, but I can see you are entertaining the very people who are trying to fool you right now. Devi is the only one who has named the Resistance in a way I agree with.

"Two people most likely to be spies"??
Molly, I KNOW who's a spy and that's you.
So quit your word games, I can see right through you.
