Our Friend YetiFace has been hard at work again improving Sleuth.

He's moved the icon toolbar around on the map page. More importantly, townie locations relevant to solving cases are now linked to each other with their own toolbar. So you shouldn't have to jump back to the map screen as often.

Yeti's working on a few other similar improvements that should help take a lot of the tedium out of Sleuth, and reduce the opportunities to make silly mistakes while you navigate.

Tell us what you think!

Silly me, I uninstalled and reinstalled the helper.....always blame technology first that's my motto. I agree with Jas if it ain't broke don't fix it. Of course it is broke now so please fix it.

I am experiencing these two issues as well. Improvements are great and I'm glad Yeti Face is investing his time on them, but I think they should take into consideration their effect on the Sleuth Helper, which (I believe) is a key element of the experience of many Sleuth Noir players.

I must say that I agree with the motto. I'm always for adding new content instead of changing what's been working perfectly for more than a decade. I aprecciate Yeti's effort all the same, and I'm sure he will find a way around the problem.

You can't consult the Fortune Teller for $20 anymore without being sent back to the login page (courtesy of Ebony on the Sleuth Talk thread). Could this be a side effect of the recent changes?

I was kind of shocked, and really thought I'd pressed a bunch of links too fast or something, when the map looked like I'd broken it, what with the whole toolbar lying on top :D I still keep moving to and hovering over the old toolbar's location waiting for it to load already :) I hope the FTs come to their senses soon; I was horrified to find myself hoping that all my cases had 11 suspects.

Ben and I are going to work this through, and get it working again. There's potential the change will be reverted for the time being, as I had not released it would impact on Sleuth Helper. However this was just intended to be the first of a batch of changes that will ultimately make Sleuth Helper redundant.

For anyone wishing to use the Fortune Teller until the problem is fixed, please manually pop this link into your browser - it may be worth book marking it:

For anyone with display issues on the main map screen, for example the fortune teller icon on the navigation bar overlapping with the suspect list, my first thought is that the browser version you're using has gotten a little old (if so, perhaps it'd be worth downloading the latest version of whatever browser you use). For reference, this is how the main map screen is meant to look:

If your screen doesn't look like that, and your browser version is recent, please mention it either here or send me a Sleuth Mail.

Mine is current...still issues. Again it has to be compatible with the helper which it's not. I'll see if I can get ahold of the creator of Sleuth Helper.

I understand that there's an issue with the helper, and that's something which will be dealt with. Putting aside the helper for now however, the map should look like how it does in the screen shot I posted. I know that for some people the "Interview Suspects" title is a little smaller than the suspects' names, but if you've got the suspect list shooting off upwards with every addition, instead of downwards, that's very, very wrong.
