I am happy to announce that the latest expansion to Sleuth: Noir, the Nemesis Hunt, is officially live as of 23:00 server time on September 9th, 2012. That is a full hour AHEAD of the scheduled update time, so first off let me start by thanking Ben for everything he has done to enable this expansion from day 1. He has been very open and supportive in this endeavor, and none of this could have been done without him. So thank you, Ben.
Now, on to the good stuff... how do nemesis hunts work?
If you have captured 3 or more Arch-Villains (10 starting October 1st), you are able to start a Nemesis Hunt. The first step is to head to Shangri-La and talk to the Prince.
...and that is the only step I will give you.
Good luck everyone! There is a special achievement on the line for the first person to capture a Nemesis, so get to it...

I think Serges is saying I did jack. Which isvery very true :) Many other people tested a lot harder than I did. I just jumped in at the last tick when I realised it was going live :D and asked a lot of annoying last minute questions :D So I had no part to play in this at all, it is all down to Serges and his band of merry helpers. Kudos to those people 100 fold for having the inclination, and Serges for having the mad skillz, to do something proactive for Noir.

i'm confused about what vampiric smile says and the replies. i thought you couldn't use case files during a nemesis hunt - that's what it says in my agency hq.
but hey i'm on the way to getting my first clue - exciting. and the guilty person in the case brought to me by the 'urchin' looked exactly like serges! now i have everything crossed waiting for that special favour to come my way :)

Friday,
You cannot use the files for Arch Villain Hunts. Nemesis hunts are different. From the teaser thread: http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=35047.
"However, the nemesis hunt doesn't stop you from going about your regular Sleuth business like a villain hunt does, so you can pursue as casually or as aggressively as you like. " ~Serges.
I take that to mean to Treasure Hunts, files, all of it. I see no restrictions there. This is a long haul activity according to the same thread. I think we might all cry if it was all we could do and couldn't get help!

CFM is exactly right; participating in a nemesis hunt doesn't prevent you from doing anything in the game you'd normally do. However, there is one aspect of a nemesis hunt that violates that rule; you'll know it when you see it.
It's designed to be pursued as aggressively or as casually as you'd like, and yes, it's definitely going to be a long-haul activity, but the reward(s) are totally worth it... :)

I've received PMs from several eager players about clarifying how certain things work within a nemesis hunt. I have absolutely no problem communicating via PM, but in the interest of sharing information I'll post relevant questions/answers in this thread as well.

Question: "I dont want any spoilers. If you could just tell me if i need to do cases and wait for a clue to appear to [REDACTED], or do i need to go and do something else."
Answer: "Right now, you're waiting for your nemesis to contact you somehow. I suggest you just go about your regular business, but remember... your nemesis will only interfere in cases at the Almost Impossible level."
Question: "do clues for [REDACTED] come from AI cases, or do we need to [REDACTED] first?"
Answer: "You have to do AI cases to [REDACTED], not the other way around."
Question: "may i ask if the clues randomly appear all over the sleuth world when u do AI cases ?"
Answer: "I can't really divulge how the clues appear, but I can tell you that AI cases in any city can be part of the nemesis hunt; there's no geographic restriction there."
The [REDACTED] information is to avoid spoilers; to those who've already started a nemesis hunt, it's the thing that the clues work for.

It seems that clues are given not only at AI cases level as i know a clue given after solving an easy case. It is either a bug or a very nasty nemesis!
