I am having a bit of a wtf Sleuth moment. I am in the middle of a favor case, and there are two suspects named Bertha. Ah... but here's the interesting part: their last names are also the same. Bertha Benedict: there are two of them.
Am I seeing double? Who is this mysterious Bertha Benedict and how can she be two different people at the same time?
Hmmm...

Ew that sucks. Is one of them guilty?

No. I was able to solve the case just for fun to see what would happen. However one Bertha had a real alibi, and one Bertha had a fake alibi, and the handwriting belonged to a Bertha. Luckily Bertha didn't do it :-) It was a nail biter.
But.... like.... isn't that not supposed to happen?

It doesn't happen very often, but I have learned that I need to keep track of the suspects' relationships to the victim. Things like son, sister, doctor, acquaintance, loan shark, etc. I have found this technique sometimes avoid the confusion of similar sounding names as well.

It isn't supposed to happen, that's for sure lol
I had a Vera Baggi and a Vera Derr earlier and I thought that was confusing enough :)
