I recently found an awesome party/social game called "The Resistance" that my friends and I love to play. The premise is very similar to games like "mafia" and "werewolf"; you have a group of players, in which some of them are working against the group and have knowledge the others don't.

In "The Resistance", you are basically members of an underground organization known as "The Resistance" attempting to destroy the establishment. However, among you there are counter-agents, or "Imperial Spies" who are working to sabotage your efforts. The spies know who they are, as well as who else is a spy, but will for all intents and purposes appear to be working toward the goals of the Resistance.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions". The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I really don't know how we (The Resistance) even have a chance at winning the game when half the people playing aren't even posting anything. LOL.

I guess I will lose my competitiveness and just watch to see what kind of mess this turns into :-D

Three missions and done. I'm calling it.

FWIW. If anyone on the Resistance cares, I voted YES on this mission. I feel pretty comfortable with it and if it does fail I think we get some really good info.

I can tell you nic from playing it in rl it tends to shake out that way all the time. Depending on how many people are playing you have 2-4 who are very vocal and trying to work it through and others who feel that since you can't prove your allegience in most normal circumstances it is better to just sit back vote and not wade into the fray. I have one friend that I play with that typically spends the whole game yelling loudly that he is resistance and when he is reminded that we can't know that for sure his defense is...well *I* know. At any rate, this game seems to bring out some people's competetive nature. I know that I get that way lol. I just feel bad that my lack of experience with playing online like this is hampering me. At any rate Vive L'Resistance!

I can understand what you are saying Illicit, but because we are playing this online, if there is a player who literally posts NOTHING and they are on the Resistance it's gonna be pretty freaking hard to figure out what they are doing :-) At least IRL you can see facial expressions and I'm assuming they would at least make a grunt every once in a while or something lol.

Jason was proved by Illicit being a Resistance. He must tell the truth, at least this I understood. Nicnic and myself are resistance for sure. Illicit is the only question mark in the mission. Vote sent.

I am currently waiting for 2 players to submit their vote on the proposed mission team. Once those votes are received, I will reveal the results of the voting. If the team is approved (barring any "NO CONFIDENCE" plays), then the mission will start. Otherwise, leadership will move to Molly Maltese to propose a mission team.

Nic, you confused me. I thought we were supposed to vote no. So I did what you said. But now you voted yes? I have a feeling this *is* a case of the lay doth protest too much.

Right now: I think Jason and Illict are resistance as is Cek and Molly.

I think Biggie and Nic are spies which leaves M. Lac as a spy too.

Please pay no attention to Jonny and Emma's child.

LOL Danny. I was on the fence. And I only voted yes because I know I have a card that can veto the yes vote.

In one sense you are right... the resistance probably should vote at least a couple down so we can see voting patterns and try to gather information. I think maybe if I didn't have this card, I would have voted no. But because I know I can trump a Yes vote, I just went with yes for the time being if we feel comfortable sending it through.
