Villain's Mysterious Disappearance
Agents of the Prince of Shangri-La professed today that they were baffled by Mordred "the Snake" Malatesta's disappearance. Last seen with co-conspirator Patricia Green, his whereabouts remain a mystery, as she had no knowledge of his travel plans.

I refuse to believe it! Mordred "the snake" Malatesta is much too smart to have fallen overboard! He is devious enough to have started this rumour just to get us off his trail. He's hiding somewhere and has probably threatened a poor townie to help him.

But, it's the Palace Authorities that claims the guy is dead, and a Palace Spokesperson who made the statement... - "Reliable sources".... ?

Why would they make the statement, who is the reliable sources, and what kind of benefit is there for the Palace to declare him dead???

Were the Palace spokesperson's contact the one who benefitted, or was he/she tricked?

hmm Shell, I believe Shady said the same thing this week. Maybe he has the inside scoop?! Hope not, now there's a dead end.

hmm now there's a thought. Shady is similar to Mordred as well. He is mysterious, always disappears and can't be found unless there is something in it for him.

Pirates Tied to Missing Villain?
Rumors continue to circulate about the reported death of Mordred "the Snake" Malatesta. An anonymous source aboard the steamship Sleuthetania claims to have seen the Villain signalling a mysterious passing ship in the night. "Fall!", the witness exclaimed. The Prince of Shangri-La has expressed concern over the failure of a leading detective to capture Mordred "the Snake" Malatesta. "There are a limited number of places he could have gone," fumed the Prince in a rare display of temper. "I cannot understand what the problem is. Never before has a detective so badly failed me!"
