The game's very simple. You just have to post a riddle, and the person who posts next should try answering it, and should post their own riddle.

You have boxes arranged in such a way:
(I'll represent the boxes with letters.)

The number 5 should be in the middle ^^
The sum of the numbers in both the DIAGONAL rows should be 25. (@% is 25 here.

You can use the numbers 1-9, without repeating them at all in any row!

Just then, someone came up from behind and put his hands over the Hatter’s eyes.

‘Guess who!’ said the newcomer in a thin, flat voice.

At that, the Hatter seemed to accept the challenge of the game and started asking a series of questions in a manner that mingled hope with care.

Answer: ‘I would, but not by chance, by design.’

Q. ‘I presume you’re a member of all the posh clubs?’

A. ‘Afraid not. Never even been invited.’

Jack of Spades, I presume, or Ace if that is your technique.

In card terms, the possible ones at each stage are:
Black suits: Spades 23456789JQKA, Clubs 23456789JQKA
Not Clubs: Spades 23456789JQKA
Better than average: prob.789JQKA, unless Ace counts as one.
Spotted: All number cards are (sort of) spotted. JQKA
Unmarried: The King and Queen must be married. J or A
It's all a matter of personal taste whether or not Ace is counted as a substitute for one or as one of the top cards, therefore the more likely answer is Jack of Spades.

Also there was another easy explanation: Put all the odd numbers in one row and all the even ones in the other, witth 5 still at the centre.
