Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

I was a math major with an english minor in college. Still think YOU have problems Bryola? Now I'm lucky if I can do either of them (Use it or lose it, I guess.)

Well, I was a science major, and I can get obsessive about science and math at times... maybe that's why I can't find a lab job :)

You are lucky. Trust me Bryola, you don't want a lab job. I've got one and I hate it. (I too have a degree in science-Chemistry)

Bryola was right!!! And jojo this was not a math question, it was a common sense question. It has to be, because even with my poor math skills I had it right. :)

Two of the fastest horsemen in the kingdkom proposed to the king's daughter. The didn't like either suitor, but he wanted to look fair so he suggeted a horse race in which the winner would have his daughter's hand. The only catch was that the winner would be the person whose horse came in second. The king was certain the race would never take place because h felt that neither horseman would let the other win. Finally, the king's daughter made a suggestion to the two horsemen that would guarantee a fair race. What did she suggest?

One start at the beginning of the track and one at the opposite side so they couldn't see where the other was? Or blindfolded, but then they couldn't see, lol

If the two horsemen didn't know each other, they could be put in a race with a number of other people as well. Then they wouldn't know how to tell with whom they were competing, and in the end, the other results could be disregarded and whoever came in second out of those two would still be the winner.
