Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Why give the answer? Let us keep thinking!

The blind man was wearing a white hat.

The only way the first man could have known what color his hat was, was if he saw the other men both wearing green hats, in which case he would know he wasn't, since there were only two green hats. Since he couldn't answer, at least one of the others was wearing a white hat.

Knowing this, if the second man had seen that the third (blind) man was wearing a green hat, he would have known that he had a white hat, since he knew that they both didn't have green hats. But he couldn't answer either, so he must have seen the third man wearing a white hat.

To Jojo: Nothing

Here is one:
At the top of the tower,
At the bottom of the stairs,
At your heels ever biting,
Eternity without dispairs.

I have jagged teeth
Yet no mouth
I enter the tunnel at one end
Yet always come out the same end.

Hmmm I think Lomine got it!

The hat was white. The first man didn't see two green hats as I would have known his hat was white. The second man knew that the first man did not see two green hats. If the blind man was wearing a green hat, the second man would have seen that. But because the second man didn't know for sure what color his own hat was, the blind man could deduce his hat was white.

Another, easier one:
Dee Septer, the famous magician, had a water glass that was filled to the top. HOlding the glass above his head he let it drop to the carpet without spilling a single drop of water. How could Dee manage to drop the glass from a height of over 6 feet and not spill any water?

The glass wasn't filled with water, it was filled with milk.
