The Boardwalk is finally open but I think you have to find Big Lucy to get a ticket!! I'm spending the next couple of days in New York :-D
'Located on the southern tip of Manhattan, Battery Park is home to various amusements and distractions. Depending on your needs, the Boardwalk is either a good place to forget about soaring crime rates, or to do a bit of sleuthing. Either way, it's a nice place to spend the day - especially after a boisterous night at Big Lucy's Cabaret.
I didn't have a ticket to the carnival, and I had the feeling it was beyond even my abilities to get past the eagle eyed admissions clerk. '

Just was at BL's. I went to the fence, and tried to talk to her. Nothing there in terms of buying a ticket for the carnival.

Maybe the ticket is somewhere else?

Went to the cabaret, tried a few things - no luck so far.

Oh, wait, if it's a carnival...
Perhaps one needs to wear one of those awful masks that sometimes are released around Haloween?
- that witch festival when....
(eh. I stop here, the remaining is probably seen as personal opinion)

Here's a thought:
It's not open yet.
I mean, the picture is the same with the cranes and stuff. It looks to me as if they're still building. ;) It doesn't *say* it's open anywhere.

So true Lorelei, it's been a while since we could do any speculating :)

What speculating?
I've been there already. I rode the merry go round 3 times, had 4 hot dogs, a bag of peanuts and 2 servings of cotton candy. I should have went on the merry go round BEFORE I had all the food though. Those poor maintenance guys were not too happy with me for getting sick, but it was a blast!
Now if I can just figure out a way to win that cape! ;-)

So far my favorite part is the petting zoo:
"A petting zoo is located in a modest pen just beyond the merry-go-round. Constructed of hay bales and wooden slats, the makeshift enclosure houses a chaotic jumble of shrieking children and frolicking livestock.
I counted nearly two dozen goats in a variety of sizes and colors, as well as eight wooly young lambs, two miniature donkeys, and one alpaca. A second count confirmed my doubts... there was no pony in this petting zoo. Most peculiar."
