I thought that it was imposible, but it happened in my last case. Is this a bug or can it really happen?

There will actually be *two* (correct me if I'm wrong here - It might be three and I might recall incorrectly) townies who *knows* where the suspect has gone into hiding. Of course you just need to get one of them to answer.

(Like when you ask "Do you know anything about this case" although in that matter you will have three townies who actually have something to say about the case.)

Thanks for the answers. I obviously tried to ask the townies about the suspect, but it seems that the only two who knew the information clammed.

Well, I guess that I will need to be much more carefull now. Do you recomend me visiting shady now?
I know that the sum is the same for one or two false acusations, but I heard that his asking price skyrock as you gain experience, so I'm not sure.

If you are subscribed, you could also head to Dehli. My understanding is that the price for however many you are paying off is substantially reduced (i seem to remember by a quarter or third of the price but don't quote me on it). As for paying him off here, yes you will pay the same amount for one or two falses. The price goes up as your experience level goes up (somebody yell if i'm mistaken) and as you pay him off again and again (i.e. even if you have few experience points, if you keep having to pay him off time after time, he'll up the price each time). For cases like yours, the most prudent thing is usually to quit the case. If you do subscribe, you could also hand the case off to someone who either has that townie as a contact or has the Underworld Connections.

Good luck! L

No, you only get a few percentage discount in Delhi. I think my last pay-off was reduced by less than 20%.

And if you are subscribed you can only hand over a case to another detective if you join an agency.

And you can't get the skill Underworld Connections unless you're subscribed since you can't learn it in New York.

Magnus, I had the same question when i got my first FA while my xp was low. I paid right away, with only 1 FA. Looking back, it really doesn't make too much of a difference, because eventually you will get your 2 FAs, pay that off (with the money which you will gain during that time). Once it's clean, you feel good, but eventually you will get an FA again (maybe due to the lack of sleep)... so, in the long run, it is better to 'collect' 2 FAs before you pay. For the first time, if you feel more comfortable cleaning your slate while it's cheap, sure go ahead. In the long run you will learn to get 2FAs first, then clean it up. Hopefully, that will happen less and less as you grasp the game and become more prudent :)

I'm inclined to wait for that 2nd FA, but scares me a bit how fast shady's asking price rises: from 9000 to 12250 in a single day. Anyway, is very likely that I will need the money to improve my gear for those stupendously hard cases, so I will have to wait.

Regards and thanks again for the replies.
