I think the way that this Mr (?) Weine is playing with the USA name 2 post before is totally unacceptable and a moderator should erase this post asap.
I am Greek and I have many friend from US and nobody is allowed to make silly jokes with a country that I respect and have friends in !

what we do if we are NOT interested in doing a RP with someone who have proved able to throw out that big amount of dirt towards other people?

I guess that Sir William Weine got the only things I lack, a proving reference from the Role Playing Stage, while I got the remaining things wich Weine lack.

Not trying to make any enemies here, but who said he Mr (?) Weine is making fun of the US? Seems to me he just put some letters together and wanted to join in the fun started by SS (super sleuth?). And sometimes it's even more fun if the letters are already associated to a different, more serious meaning. And if he were actually aiming for the US: so what? I'm sure they all have a big enough sense of humour over there to just let a comment like that slide. But I think a request of removing a post that can be suggested to be not exactly friendly towards USA is weird, since you say you respect this country so much. Ever heard about the first ammendment?

lol silly jokes about the US... So you missed the Bush years then? lol.

But I should make a very, very, quick point (yeah sure I hear the groans) about the role playing thread, and this is something that those who have been over on Shades will remember vividly:

And I hasten to add I don't think anyone is doing this, but...

Whilst you can invite people to join you in a RP thread, whilst you can sort of organise people to have particular characters within that thread, and organise a plot and such, you can't say to anyone 'nope sorry this thread is for the exclusive use of those people I have deemed suitable to post into it'.

If someone rocks up and creates a situational character, that is contextual, in character and makes a contribution to that thread, well then, that's RP baby.

We don't as players have the power to lock threads off from other players, and we don't have any rights to exclude people from certain threads, whilst they are conforming to the CoC and whatever other rules Ben may have set in place.

If the RP'ing is non-contextual, or disruptive then a nice mod might delete it for you, but be very very wary about any ideas about 'ownership' of any particular RP thread, or any thread, you might decide to create.

Having said that, Noir tends to be a little less twitchy, and a little more grown up (*most* of the time) than Shades, so I don't suppose this situation will ever arise. But forementioned is forewarned... or somethign like that.

......

By the references bit, I suggested that it would help if this is not a first Role Play, as I need ideas from experienced Role Players. References aren't actually needed if this isn't your first because I can just check your 'Post History', and if you ever posted even ONE post on the Role Play, it is visible there. The 'references' was in fact a reference to this not being a first, so as to avoid anyone getting confused about the way the plot goes, or someone thinking that the moderators send out plot newsletters as to which way the story goes. In other words, newbies to RP ought to at least mention if this is their first RP thread, so I can explain the concepts (all right, it's a bit tough on newbies, but just forget that bit to make it fair)

Now redesigned poster:

Yes SS I know about your Shades reference, and i am sure Sir William is not planning anything as elaborate; just trying to find a few good sleuths to RP with, from what i see (i really don't know since i haven't participated in Mr. William's RP myself; been busy elsewhere).

I totally agree that people should have the right to post on any thread as long as they contribute to the story. Personally I have in the past (in various websites) posted with people who seemed to be 'ruining the story', but in the end we learn to use our wits and improvised, and gained so much more from those experiences. Some people like to PM and putting the story together 'behind the scene', whereas others prefer to 'work alone' and ride the wave. Either way (or both together), RP-ing is great fun and... I must warn here... that it's truly truly additive...
