i don 't mind role playing and I don't mind getting mindless messages. I mind mild obscenities, though.
whoever is Joe Shady should just back off the first time he/she is asked.
I only play for fun.
this is not fun.

Unfortunatly the ignore button is not foolproof in which case the offending PMs (and name of author) should be sent on to Admin. who can trace the IP address to the computer they came from. One person can hide behind fake identities but they need to remember that it is easy for Admin to find them out.

I've never witnessed mob mentality in this game. I've witnessed bullying and I think it's ugly. I've seen people systematically abusing other users and I hate that too. There is definitely a need for moderators to police the boards and admin to take action against abusive users, otherwise we really could end up with a mob who are intent on causing trouble.

I'm not sure how far police would get in their investigations without witnesses so it makes a lot of sense for people to report trouble to the admin in this game. Everyone has the right to enjoy this game in the spirit of fun and nobody has the right to abuse other players... otherwise the game would become unplayable. It makes sense from both sides.

Ignore is useful if you have a subjective dispute with someone and the argument will never end, but when someone is objectively breaking the rules, it needs addressing otherwise there's no point in having a code of conduct.

Sorry I've been on holidays and I thought he'd have gone away by now. I had been deleting all his feral posts, I'll get back into that.

I agree Brasco, but for now, if anyone does get annoying PM's from Joe Shady just put him on ignore. If you don't, then you're just asking for more of the same, and I don't see any sense in that.

A week ago I asked an unsubbed player, andirondax, if he wanted me to send him a subscription coupon so he could join my agency. He said yes, and gave me his email address, so I sent him the coupon. A few days later I got a reply that said "I don't want your **** coupon." I wrote back saying that there was no need to be rude since he asked me to send him the coupon. Today I got three consecutive mails that said F*** you. This is extremely rude, and I insist that something be done about this. Is it possible to have this player removed? I've already put him on ignore. I will not continue playing this game if I am going to be harassed and insulted by immature and rude players.

Like I said in my previous post, Light Y., take all of your correspondence, explain the situation on an email directed to Help@hypoware.com (I think that's the address, you'll find it at the bottom of every page.), copy the PM's onto the email, and send the whole thing off to Hypoware (Ben). This (I'm told) is the fastest way to get his attention, and to get your problem taken care of. I can't guarantee anything will happen, only that Admin will now be involved in your problem. I sincerely hope this helps. Good luck, Light Y. ;-)

Good job using the ignore button Light.

Unfortunately, there will always be some moron out there getting his jollies off by sending out stupid emails like you listed above. Please don't let it get to you. Breit has some good advice. Report the abuse to the Administrators and put them on ignore.

There is no way to screen people when you are playing an online game. The good thing is those people usually get bored easily when they don't receive the attention they want and go off to try to ruin another game.
