I'm currently playing 'An Unconcious Murder' - a Ridiculously Hard case in NYC, and one of the regular storyline characters is clammed up - no option to interrogate or etc.

Is this a bug? Theres noone I can talk to other than this guy, and I think I need him to talk to proceed forward with the case.

Like standard cases in SM's the characters can clam up.

However if there are no questions to ask it probably means you need to try something else. Often there will have been a clue in the writing somewhere, sometimes not. You may ahve to do some research at the City Hall, talk to previous suspects again or talk to one of the Townies. If you don't play SM's and read things carefuly you can miss things and they get frustrating, the reading part is the idea behind them.

So ask around, try everyone, it'll probably budge.

If you are stuck try playing it again but do things differently, may help.

Also the sluethtips.com website ahs some SM walkthroughs, not sure if this is one, it may help.

Thanks for the reply - my issue is that one of the main story characters (who you must talk to multiple times) is clammed up with a story question...

i.e. A police officer has just mentioned somebody, and the next action is to Ask, "Come to what, officer?"

but he is clammed up - and consequently I cannot continue with the storyline (I've tried all vendors, research, etc).

Yeah I thought you couldn't lose in featured mysteries either, but I just tried An Unconscious Murder and got stuck on one of the story line questions too.

You cna get stuck and "loose" at SM's. They are supposed to be a challenge, nto just a story, hence the difficulty levels. Perhaps there are lower leveled SM's to try? If not keep going, you can't get FA's for SM's.

An Unconscious Murder is quite the tough FM; I would know, as I wrote it. Don't expect to be able to solve it easily just because you can open ridiculously hard cases. And don't expect to be able to solve it on your first go necessarily. You may have to restart, especially if someone clams.

Also, you might need more skills before tackling some of the featured mysteries! :)

Yes there'sa good mix of levels around, try some others first if you get stuck on this one.

As the fact that it's Jojo that wrote it, I can say, even with all my necessary skills I had to play it twice to get through it, quitting the first time. So, on that note, don't be afraid to have to quit an SM because you get stuck. Play it again, and limit your questions the next time through. :D

I guess I'll replay it and I won't bother asking the Police guy what his alibi is! :)

I like the writing style, its different!
