"Lie detection" (or some better sounding name preferably):
Works just like Stress detection in that it "gives you a free question", but is a Smarts-skill instead of Toughness. And when someone gives you an alibi it gives you a message (sometimes or always?) that says something along the lines of "You sense that she/he is telling the truth" or "It's quite apparent that she/he is lying". Thus you won't have to check the alibi, and effectively save a question.
Please comment. It's not a finished idea.

Ok. I didn't mean for it to be a "lie detector" test. I mean for it to be a "sixth sense" on if someone is telling the truth or not. What I was originally thinking was that Stress detection (Toughness) let's you choose your questions wisely, effectively sparing you unnecessary questions. Lock picking (Toughness) spares you a question outright.. so I figured there could be a Smarts based skill that did the same. I only now realized that Research (Smarts) does approximately that for you. So how about a Charm based skill that does something close to it? What could that be?

It could be called "Intuition" and be a Charm-skill.

Charm skill to help you with questioning is Hypnotism, which nets you an extra suspect every time it works, effectively saving you a couple of motive questions at least.
I like this idea, though, if we can get another case level. I'm thinking "You must be freakin crazy to try this" would be a good one :)(
