Male character. Some suspect was a woman and the twist said "I" was gradually falling in love with her or whatever. So I took the evidence, made a direct match and accused. Turned out I made a mistake heh. I had a case before too, "I " was falling in love with someone and she turned out to be the criminal.
So what would have happened if I accused the right person, would I have married that person? I thought that was impossible for a detective so I accused :D. Now I don't have enough money to pay Shady :p.

Global, whilst some twists have a direct influence on the case you are doing, usually in that they give you extra suspect names, you should never accuse based solely on what the twist leads you to believe!

Accusing should be kept to the three rules:

No alibi/false alibi + Physical Evidence (hair etc)
No alibi/false alibi + Witness Evidence (I saw her leaving scene of crime etc)
Witness Evidence + Witness Evidence

Anything else is just smoke and mirrors.

As long as you can confirm one of the three rules above in your case, you will never get a false.

What Ho!, young merchant banker.

Sadly, relationships don't seem to last during cases - the girl always wanders off at the end of the investigation even if you were falling in love. Mr Squiggle is entirely correct - stick to the three rules for standard investigations. However, you would be entirely justified in following the written twists more carefully if you were doing a featured mystery.

EXCELSIOR!

What Ho, Mr Crunch!

I could never shave off my moustache - it gives me something to sieve out my tea leaves if I can't find the strainer...

.....wanders off muttering to himself...."Decent chap that Crunchpatty wallah, reminds me of Bertie Glossop back in '03....his face looked the same both ways up too....."
