seersucker

it always makes me think of a well-dressed vampire trying to keep his cool on a beach in the Hamptons, and I have really no idea what it means.

kumquat

Someone brought this to my attention as one of those inherently funny words. After I stopped laughing, I realized it sounds more like an alien space creature from Star Trek than a fruit.

baccarat?

I can't say it, play it, it or probably even spell it, and it automatically makes me slam the keys down HARD.

spleen

I don't even know what it does, really. An appendix, you can deal with, it makes sense--like an appendix in a book, tacked on as an afterthought, it doesn't have a vital purpose. But spleen? Who even knows what it's for? Spllleeeeeeeeeeen. Stupid spleen.

I"m not sure what its for either Ara. I know my dog had it out and they said he could live without it. So if we can live without it then, what's it for in the first place?

sphygmomanometer

It's not the cuff that wraps around your arm but is the actual measuring device of a blood pressure cuff...I've just always liked to say it but it makes no sense to me at all.

Hi SS

Baccarat was actually one of the favourite games of James Bond. It is like "pontoon" or "Vingt et Un" except that the maximum score is nine ("neuf a la Banque")

All cards 1 to 9 are worth face value. 10 and royalty are worth zero. Closest to 9 wins.

My own word is " Gruntfuttock ", but there again it would be, wouldn't it?

Fiddler
