Look at that, an on-time launch for a change!
Apartments are now available in the following cities:
New York
London
Shanghai
Delhi
To purchase an apartment visit the real estate agency in the city you want to buy in. Apartments are quite expensive, and furnishing them is also costly, so you probably should wait if your short on funds.
There are two types of furniture that aren't yet working:
1) Study Furniture / Case File storage: These items will allow you to save case files, as in detective agencies, but this functionality is not yet finished.
2) Bookshelves: Bookshelves will eventually allow your guests to read books that you have collected (and gain the experience from doing so), but these are also currently incomplete.
Enjoy.

Wow! You really weren't kidding about being expensive.
Is there anyway to know before buying an apartment what the differences are between the sizes. It would be great to know the advantages and disadvantages of the different apartments before putting down a ton of money.

They look like fun and I am anxious to get those funds up enough to really enjoy them.

With 2 days to spare!!! Thanks. Is there a Show Apartment we can look around? Would be nice to know if any of the rooms are partly kitted out - kitchen, bathroom, for example, and if the previous occupants left anything worth using or selling.
Also - you mention saving cases in the apartments. What about clothing and such items? I've been waiting since 29 November to find out if I can leave some clothing here to buy something else, otherwise I have to go back to HQ, losing cases and money going there and back again! And I still don't know the answer!!!!!!

No show apartment, sorry. You'll have to see if you can get invited by somebody who owns one :)
When you buy an apartment, it is completely empty.
You furnish the rooms as you want. You can buy decorations and furniture for them.
Decorations just make the place look nicer.
Furniture serves various uses:
* Containers - Store your items
* Desks/Filing Cabinets - Store case files (not working yet)
* Sofa Sets - Private chat room
* Dining Sets - Private Message board
* Bookshelves - allow guests to read your books (not working yet)
In general, you're going to spend as much money on furnishings as you do on the apartment itself. So, make sure you've got significant cash, or consider a smaller place.
You can always move into a large or smaller apartment, or move cites, but all that costs money.

Thanks. I understand we can only own one apartment - this right? Shame, I'd like to try for one in each city, after all we can own property in the real world in more than one place! Then perhaps we could have a suitcase to travel between homes - carrying one piece of equipment and/or one item of clothing or one case (should we really want to take a case with us for some obscure reason!). What about it???
