I have created a sleuth miracle!

IT IS THE UNHIJACKABLE THREAD!

Go ahead and try, but this thread is about anything and nothing, all at the the same time!

This is the place where Al can talk about world domination, Crunch can worship David Hasselhoff, SS can try and find even more complicated questions for his pub quizzes, Nikkie can advertise for Tim Tams, cfm can troll for more Sharpie victims, JR can beg for the chance to win Bobo back, and bedazzling can be a way of life!

So go off, rant and rave, talk about anything, i don't care, I just wanted to see my avatar on the page (when its actually me anyways)

So go ahead, I dare you all to try and hijack me :)

...so sometimes I think that everyone has a mortal enemy.

This doesn't mean that I think that we all know in advance who our mortal enemy is. It's more like, there's this weird little part of me that thinks that the culture goes on and on about how we might all have something called a soulmate, without considering the flipside of that logic.

If there is such a thing as a soulmate - a person we were meant to be with- should the laws of symmetry not also dictate that there is such a thing as a nemesis? A person we might encounter in our lives who we would instantly recognize as our complete antithesis, and who would wordlessly recognize us the same way, to the extent that both of us would be compelled to pummel each other?

Or do I just really dislike this salestard (thanks for that perfect word, Serges) at my local video store?

LMAO salestard cracked me up too.

You raise a good point Crunch, I'd have to agree. I would think you would know who that person is, because you would have the strange urge to dress in tights and a cape while they threw on a green costume covered in question marks.

Wait, you do that all the time? Nevermind then...

Also, I'm curious what everyone thinks. The word soulmate has always bothered me, because I think its entirely possible to have a soulmate, and not have it be a romantic thing. Thats how I think you know when you meet a true friend. Any thoughts?

Ok I'm so not into wishy washy navel gazing... but I'm with you biggie. I think it's possible to have multiple soul mates even. Soul mates seem to me to be a non gender, non age reliant, maybe even 'timeless', thing . A soul mate could be your spouse, but it could just easily be a good friend, a grandparent, or someone you meet on a vacation and that you never see again afterwards. But in all these things it's that almost instant recognition that you 'connect' with that person on a level beyond, or what transcends, what we might consider a normal relationship. Anyway where did I put my worry beads...

Since this is an UNHIJACKABLE Thread I have decided to venture to another one of my criminal skill - kidnapping. Yes Kidnapping Threads.

Victim 1. Jan-6-2006 14:50

hi all. sorry if this has been asked and answered elsewhere...i've gone back about a month and not seen it so i'll take my chances

these little twists that come up when you're investigating, like "miss pansy whatever tells you the victim had a child" or "then i bumped my knee on a fire hydrant and yay i fell over just in time for a knife to go whizzing by my ear"

you know the ones

i've kind of figured out the significance of the one where you have a dream with a bloody photo of one of your suspects. my question is, are any of the other ones helpful?

i'm going nuts trying to figure out whether i'm an idiot!

thanks...happy sleuthing!

I was a law student once. Somehow, it lead to me becoming a lawyer.

After law school, a few of my fellow unemployable law student friends opened up a criminal defense firm and I did that for several years. Then we started to make money and I decided to run-off to China and teach English for a couple years.

I still haven't come to terms that now I work on the side of the police (even as merely an internet detective). I atone by quitting cases often to let guilty suspects go free.
