I want to know why can't u open another agency in another place ( new york, etc.) without having to resign(as director of your current agency) from your present company. Is there no way to expand unless u relocate the present agency.

You can expand by subscribing a second detective and having that second detective open (and run) the agency.

Yes you can open as many agencies as you wish.

You can only be a director in one agency at a time. So to open a new agency you have to join together with someone else, or control two different detectives.

Some agencies create temporary places while one or two detectives want to earn contacts or work with a particular faction.

There are several alliances of agencies in Sleuth both formal and informal.

A couple of months ago (and a couple of months before that, and again before that as this is a reoccuring topic in Sleuth) there was a small but vocal minority who complained loudly about such alliances. At that point many people stopped being public about such things.

In my post history you can find some of the threads that dealt with that issue.

how do you create temporary places?

By having one of the detectives from your agency go to the new city and start a new agency. They would have to resign (or be kicked out) of your current agency and then they can start a new one in the new city.

By temporary place it implies that you spend a few days or weeks in the other city then come back to the original agency. If you want to create a new permanent home away from home you just have to build up the safe in the new city.

Not trying to rekindle the past discussion, but wanted to mention that the minority might not have been that small.

kymkatt, I know you probably didn't have a chance of knowing how unpopular this particular topic was, but a suggetion would be to maybe just ask some of those agencies who already employ this "strategy".

Please please lets stay on topic...

Kymkatt - you can only resign and open new agency or open it with a diffrent detective. You can also ask other existing agency to become "sister". You CANT be in more than one agency at same time. You CAN move between agencies, but there is a "cooling" periode. I think it was 2 days but Im not sure, since I never done this.

*We had a big disscussion in the past about advantage or disadvantage this gives and about ethics. Im sure you can find it in post history. Ben's opinion/decission on the matter will be there too. GL!

The time period in moving from one agency to another is zero.

You can leave agency A to go to B to go to C, etc. as fast as you can click your mouse on the accept invitation link.

You can leave agency A to go to B, then leave B to go back to A just as fast.

You can leave agency A to go to B, then leave B to go back to A, BUT if you want to go back to B again you have to wait 48 hours from the first invite to B.

The simple formula:

You must wait 48 hours between accepting invites to the same agency.

Can you send money to an agency you are no longer a member of to pay off rent you were unable to put in a safe?

No, MissKimberly. Someone from the agency in question will have to re-invite you, then you can put the money in their safe and then resign.
