See, I noticed the request to be specific with the post subjects.

Anyway, while I'm not exactly a newbie anymore, there are still a few things I don't understand.

1) Can someone explain the point system behind your chance of succeeding with a skill (for example, I believe someone told me that the pugilism skill grants a +10 to intim and inter). What about the other skills? What do the different archetypes start with in terms of these points?

2) What exactly is the "status bonus" that most agency locations grant?

Thank you.

I thought Status Bonus moved your charm or tough point up. Like, on the detective page, under Adjustments....if someone has 13 in charm,if u join an agency that offers a status bonus,it ups it a bit. I'm probably wrong, and that is DEFINITELY possible LOL, but I thought that's what it was. Hmmm :)

That is correct about the status bonus, Reese Withers. It's just not specifically listed in JoC, but is taken into account in the base chance, from what I understand. For example, our agency has a status bonus of 3, so it gives a 3% increased chance of the charm or tough skill working.

Ok, because I don't have JoC, is that why I've never seen that list of base points, etc? Or are there other times where that shows up? cuz I've never seen it.

No, it's only with JoC. Which is great for looking at this sort of thing--very interesting, and gives you a good idea of how the skills separate out--but not really useful unless you have *all* the charm and tough skills, and plan to switch back and forth as the suspect's numbers warrant.
