Detective Biography

$83303

They say "Life's tough in the big city." They don't know the half of it. It doesn't matter what big city you live in. I myself spend my time in London, New York, and Boston, mostly. In fact, that's how I got started as a PI. I was vacationing on the Cape, when I found out my best friend from college was found dead, shot, floating in the Dirty River. I had no experience or skills in police work or forensics, but I took up the case immediately. No one actually hired me; I was doing this for myself, and for my friend.

As it turns out, he had just stood up his fiance at the altar. I found her body in her house, drenched in blood, with the gun in her hand, the same gun that killed my friend, and a suicide-murder note in her pocket. "Open and shut case" the local boys said. I knew something was wrong; call it instinct. I snuck the note out of evidence and brought it to my contact in New York, Ruby Kinsella, the banker. She confirmed my suspicions. Someone else wrote that note. But no prints. Not on the gun or the note.

So now, I wait. I continue my detective work in Shanghai, New York, London, and Delhi. I take cases as they come, to pay the rent. I spread my influence across all of the "big cities". But someday, I'll cross paths with the person who killed my friend.

Someday.
