If you've failed to pinpoint a suspect and all leads have clammed up, is it better to deliberately make a false accusation (knowing you can get it expunged from the record) or just quit? What effects on your detective does either failing or quitting have?
Also - if it turns out that continuing a case with have an adverse effect on your standing with a faction that you want to be on good terms with (even though it improves your relations with another) , is it better to quit the case?
And finally (promise!) when you buy/get equipment, does the effect it have simply make skills cost less, or makes it more likely that that you will be more successful when you employ those skills?
Thanks!!!!

As a rule of thumb: Never ask yourself that question. Just quit.
