I have advanced hair and thread analysis, but sometimes the crime scene evidence just says ' you found a thread'. Should I get the extra info, ie curly hair/ thread from female, on every case or is it random?

Yes, you will gt extra information, but there a few factors in deciding if you do or do not get the extra info.
It is random, yes, but it helps a TON if you have strong smart equipment on when you FIRST check the scene. Otherwise, it is random.
