WARNING GAME SPOILER!!
If you wish to enjoy the adventure of figuring out this game on your own, DO NOT read the rest of this post.
If you are too lazy to read through a page or two of threads to see if your question has already been asked a zillion times, then PLEASE read this first!
Welcome to Sleuth, and your new addiction. There is no cure, so just accept it and enjoy it! Here are a few tips and hints that you should find helpful, and are among the FAQ of the newbie boards.
First, a great place to FIND ANSWERS and cool history threads about Sleuth is in the Moderator Picks Board. The Mods have picked out their favorite bits and made them easy to find. In addition to personal favorites, try looking over the Newbie FAQ. This can be found on the bottom of most pages as a tiny little grey link. Also the Help file at the upper right of most screens is packed with little useful tidbits.
HOW DO I SOLVE a case? First off…we recommend that you try the tutorial found on the front of the case page. It won’t count against your daily caseload, and it will give you an idea of how the game works. It’s not set up to walk you through the most efficient course through the game, but to show you how the game works, leaving you to find your own strategy. The following formulas will help you find your murderer.
PE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
WE+Fake/"none of your business" Alibi=guilty
2 WE = guilty
PE=Physical Evidence WE=Witness Evidence
Having a clammed suspect that will not give you an alibi is not the same as a fake/none alibi.
PE+WE DOES NOT = Guilty

Okay so how did we all do??I know someone probably had some trouble or even missed it. It is okay it happens not a problem all you need to do is what I did just before giving the quiz by clicking on (<<First Page) at either the top or bottom of this page and read though the 25pages then go get a drink, use the restroom and stretch if you need it. Then click (Next Page and you can try taking this quiz again, GOODLUCK!!!Chances are if you are retesting your going to need it!!

Is there a cycle in the occurences of Treasure Hunts as far as its being multi-city or single-city is concerned? Or is it random, can be a single- or multi-city hunt?

Hey Bill - far as I know it's completely random, but that' s just based on kinda half paying attention. Anyone else?

I thought the pattern was 3 muti-city hunts available at a time, but I consulted my hunting expert and she confirmed that it is random on if a new hunt is single or multi.

[Cannot accuse without knowing motive]
How is THAT possible? The suspect in question is NOT my client, and all other suspects get on the list as a result of "Ask if (s)he knows anyone who had a motive to commit this crime.". So how can I have a suspect without motive? My client has a Motive: Revenge. This is the first time I encounter such a thing, so could some kind soul explain it to me? What have I missed?

You can have suspects added to your list four ways:
-to start a case your client gives you some names
-asking suspects on your list if they know of anyone else with a motive
-asking townies if they know anythign about the case (if the person is not on your list already they will appear thereat that point)
-certain twists that reveal names of suspects (again if not on your list they will appear at that point)
The only way to accuse is to find motive for that suspect, so if they appear in one of the last two ways there will be no motive at that point.

I'm pretty sure it's none of the four. The first two give motive along with the name, I start talking to townies only after I have a complete list of suspects, and the last one seems to be only for featured mysteries. So either I asked a towny a question and then completely forgot about it (which I refuse to believe), or it's none of the above. Strange.
In any case thanks for the help and sorry to waste your time.

Hey shadowblack -- the last scenario Ran describes in which a suspect is added to your list without motive by virtue of encountering them via one of the little twists happens in regular cases too, not just featured ones. Betcha that's what happened.
