There will be 4 activities this week. All events start on Thursday, August 25, at 12:00 AM, SST. Good luck. ;-)

1. Sleuthetania Scavenger Hunt - All team members will board the Sleuthetania and hunt for a list of items that will be provided to them on the Sleuth Talk boards Thursday morning. As with the other hunts, once a team member has found the first item on the list, stored the item to the Agency locker, and sent a screenshot or copy/paste of the reward page to Riza, team members may proceed to look for the next item on the list. The team with the most items found gets 10 points. Team with the second highest amount found gets 7. Third gets 5. Fourth gets 3. PLEASE REMEMBER: Once you are on the boat, you CANNOT access your Agency, so clean out your locker before you board the ship. Riza will be expecting a screenshot of each team's locker before Thursday.

All teams may do a MAXIMUM of *TWO* trips on the Sleuthetania. You have until Wednesday, August 31, 11:59 PM, SST, to complete this activity.

2. Journal Pages Hunt - While on the boat, all members will do a hunt for Journal Pages. We have recorded each person's current collected Journal Pages. On Thursday, September 1, around 12:00 AM, SST, we will again compile a list of everyone's collected Journal Pages. All participating players get 3 points (this means you have to collect at least ONE Journal Page to get the participation points). The player with the most Journal Pages collected gets 10 points. Player with the second most Pages collected gets 7 points. Player with the third most Pages collected gets 5 points. Player with the fourth most collected Pages gets 3 points. And yes, there can be more than one point winner on the same team.

3. Introduction Creation Contest - Each team will create and submit TWO intros. One MUST be set on the Sleuthetania, and have a nautical theme. The second MUST have an Olympic theme of some kind. Spelling and grammar will be taken into account.

Sorry, posted the wrong version

Olympic theme

In the Tricky Mister I listened to the final race of the 1936 Olympic Regatta tensely. The men's eights had been a taut battle. The Americans started out slower than usual, due to the stroke of the crew, Don Hume being ill. As the stroke of the crew it was his job to set the pace for the other seven men.

CBS' Bill Henry reported as the battle unfolded:
It looks as though the United States is beginning to pour it on now! The Washington crew is driving hard on the outside of the course, they are coming very close now to getting into the lead! They have about 500 meters to go, perhaps a little less than 500 meters, and there is no question in the world that Washington has made up a tremendous amount of distance. They have moved up definitely into third place. Italy is still leading, Germany is second, and Washington, the United States, has come up very rapidly on the outside. They are crowding up to the finish now with less than a quarter of a mile to go!

Even over the radio, the roar of the crowd was thunderous as the three boats matched each other stroke for stroke. The crowd quieted to wait for the results. The Americans, Germans and Italians finished so closely no one knew who had won until the times were announced. They were separated by one second. When Star-Spangled Banner filled the Berlin suburb of Grünau, the German spectators gave the American victors the Nazi salute. From them, high praise indeed.

The bar erupted into cheers, but never being one for crowds, I drifted out to find a quiet area to think about the dramatic event I'd just heard. The boys from the University of Washington had just handed the Germans their figurative oars in front of Hitler himself. I smiled to myself.

Walking further from the bar, the sounds of celebration faded. Another sound became clearer. Someone was crying. I slowly followed the sounds of the sobs and came across a woman leaning over someone. The body on the ground appeared lifeless. Undetected by the sobbing woman, I watched and saw the other's chest rise just a bit. Then a sound no one ever wants to hear. A death rattle. It's a dark, ominous sound. The woman started at the sound and began crying harder. Almost wailing, I approached to calm her. That's when I became aware of the knife in her hand. The bloody gash in the other woman's stomach. The smell of spilled blood. As her wails calmed, the woman looked up. Noticing me she yelled, “You have to help!! She's been killed!” almost hysterical.

“Yes, I can see that,” I said evenly, my eyes on the knife. Her eyes followed mine. She gasped, as if becoming aware of it for the first time. Dropping it she said, “I didn't do it! I loved her! She was my sister, Victoria Blanco. But I can tell you who may have.”

Olympic Intro

The phone rang, jerking me out of my dreams. I lifted the receiver and at first was unable to understand the torrent of language that gushed from it. It took my brain a couple seconds to realize that the torrent was in French, not English. “Arrête!”, I cut in. “Just slow down and tell me what happened, Jean.” The speaker's use of French had told me that it could only be my client, Jean DesChapins, the coach of the French Olympic archery team.

He had hired me a week previously to find out who was trying to sabotage his team. Someone had been repeatedly breaking in to the team's equipment locker and removing one or two bows at a time, then returning them seemingly unaltered a day or two later. It was only after we had taken the bows apart that we had realized what the culprit had tried to do. The saboteur had either slipped small weights inside the bow or added additional wraps around the bow's grip. Either had the effect of adding several ounces to the bow's overall weight, which the archer wouldn't have noticed at first. But the archer's aim would become increasingly erratic as the matches progressed. A wobbly aim was more valuable than gold to the team's rivals. I assumed the frantic phone call meant that Jean had discovered something that would lead to the responsible party. But I couldn't get him to tell me what. All he would say, over and over, was that I needed to come to the team's training and warm-up area, a tent just outside the Olympic archery arena.

London's foggy nights just didn't agree with me. The cold and the moisture from the rain and mist drilled into my bones and left an ache that never seemed to leave. I would've trained in France if I'd been on the team; as it was, the coach, my client, insisted that training in or near to the actual venue would build up stamina and resilience in his athletes. Knowing that, however, didn't make me any more comfortable.

I arrived at the tent to find a dozen bobbies milling about. My Client was in the custody of two of them, speaking rapidly and wildly gesticulating. At the far end of the tent, two men in suits and hats were bent over a bench.

I approached my client, and motioned for him to calm down. In broken English, he told me that the supervisors over at the bench were examining the body, not of any of our suspects, but of a team member. Jean had arrived to find Pierre Baudin, the Captain of the team, knifed in the back, and slumped over one of the benches. Actually, knifed wasn't exactly accurate: he had been skewered to the bench by an arrow. How someone had had enough strength to do this, I did not know. I turned and asked Jean who Pierre's enemies were.

As i follow boxing at all levels and after 6 years years of boxing myself, an intro based on boxing was a sport i could easily connect with. This years Rio Olympics showed just how low the "Gentlemans Sport" has stooped too, it was rife with corruption and deceit. Following the outburst and removal of his gloves a young Irish boxer even went as far as to how the "stinky finger" to the judges and referee openly accusing AIBA of corruption and that he would no longer box under the authority again. I watched the bout and he was blatantly robbed. Hence it was an easy subject to pick up on for an intro.

Sleuthetania Intro submitted on behalf of Keira Ann

The salty ocean air felt cool to the face as I sat outside on my stateroom balcony sipping on my rum. I had been to the bar, however there were too many loud passengers clearly enjoying their spirits. A cruise on the U.S.S. Sleuthetania was about relaxation and getting away from the craziness of the detective life. Leaning back and looking at the stars sparkling in the clear night sky, I knew this was the trip I so desperately needed after my last case. No time to dwell on that now.

WOOOOOSH I heard suddenly.

Before I could react, a loud THUD could be heard. My detective senses went on to high alert, instantly knowing that my peaceful trip had come to an abrupt end.

As I raced around the balcony corner to peer down, other passengers were running towards the now deceased body laying face down on the deck boards. I made my way down to check out the gruesome scene hoping the poor soul didn’t see the deck as they fell to their untimely death.

A gut-wrenching, torturous, wailing sound came from right behind me as I assessed the situation. I turned to see a man in the throes of grief and pain staring at me. “Detective… ppplease find out who did this to my Sister. She was all I had” he stammered between sobs. As he collected himself, he went on to explain “I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Roland Addison. I recognize you from the City News, I need your help."

Just so you know, we had some confusion in our team and therefore will only be submitting one intro.

So congratulations in advance to everyone else :)
