If you have done 2 false accusations and currently very little money and if you want to wipe the slate clean does the "shady character in the back" require more money each time a case is solved? If this is so why can't you get yourself out of the whole??? It seems that I am at that point.

Try doing easy cases and then your favors. The easy cases will keep the expense increase down, while the favors are where you earn a large portion of your money.

What if you are trying to accumulate skill points though?

Because I am trying to get more skill points so that I can purchase skills. How would your strategy work that way?

Sometimes, you have to chose which one you need more. If you are in jepordy of losing your detective, waiting a few days on skill accumulation is not a bad idea opposed to getting retired.
