i'm referring to the Cosa Nostra and stuff like that. I noticed that Cosa Nostra mostly has stuff for Tough guys. I'm a Smart/Charm combination. So I didn't try and improve my relation with them. Which guild should I be looking out for?

The Brotherhood has some good charm advancing items, and you'll find some of the higher smarts bonus equipment at the Order.
If you want a preview of most of the items they offer, this is a good place to check out: http://pachome2.pacific.net.sg/~simbp76/site/city.htm

I'm mingling with La Cosa Nostra . . . shouldn't I be with the Brotherhood? Yet, I do not really care. I'm still tingling with the fact that I solved a favor mystery that was Intermediate levelled. I started today, and I have 70 experience points to my name. Fancy!

If you aren't subscibed, LCN isn't of much use to you, as the safe cracking skill is only useful for agencies.
However, at your exp level, i wouldn't worry at all about factions, I would focus on getting the basic skills first. Bye then you might be addicted to sleuth as the rest of us and decide to subscribe :)
