I've noticed that since the shoes showed up, our smart gear is not working very well. Used to be with +21 smart gear, and all the smart skills you could uncover the physical evidence pretty much all the time. Now, even with +23 smart gear, almost every case has at least one piece of PE that doesn't show (a note...a footprint).

I can see how this will tend to even things out on hunts in other cities (a Good Thing), since it will reduce the homecourt advantage. but it also makes smart gear generally less useful if it only works some of the time.

Maybe smart gear and skills got downgraded a little too much? what do you guys think?

I haven't noticed a downgrade in my charm,fortunately!

I've yet to see a change in the Smarts, department. Out of the five Ridiculously Hard cases I identified last night with +20 Smarts gear, I correctly analyzed every piece of evidence.

I'm not calling you a liar, but it's got yet to hit me. @@; Personally, I've correctly identified all evidence with -3 Smarts, so the way the Smarts system works is beyond me.

I noticed this too, Dogberta, and pondered posting it. I was SHOCKED when my smarts total went up, but I all of a sudden stopped getting all the detail on the evidence. This hasn't happened to me in a long time when I was wearing the max smarts gear. It's back to the crime lab!

I also didnt notice any degration in smart. Although I did have more suspects clamming But I think its just bad luck and not that Im less charming with my boots on ;)

I thought that the smart gear isn't working very well only on AI, but I have the same problem on favor now.
Does the really smart detective having the same problem?
if not it's quite logical, no?

I am a really smart detective and i haven't noticed anything with evidence. I've been finding all of my evidence, even today i was too lazy to put on smart gear for a favor and i was able to analyze every piece at -3 smart

I still dont have any problem with AI cases, but I did notice a problem with the Lab. It could be just a coinsidence but in the last couple of days I cant get anything done in the lab.
I never dressed smart for that though. You think it helps if I change?

It definitely helps to have smart gear on when you visit the lab.

I just moved to a new agency trying to build up smart gear, so for the past few days I haven't been using it at all, and I still find 75% of the evidence

And I haven't had a problem in the crime lab either....
