I bought Hand Writing Analysis and Sweet Talking for myself. Did I invest well? What should I get next? I'm not sure if I invested my points well. Can someone tell me??

Your detective is Tough & Smart, so you should concentrate on those skills first: go for interrogation and intimidation (intermediate and advanced versions if you already have the basics) first, before the charming skills like sweet talking.

Build up your smarts skills too: the more you have, the more information you'll get out of crime scenes so you won't need to rely quite so much on the townspeople.

If you are just getting started, the first things to get are basic thread and basic hair - since you won't find half the physical evidence at crime scenes til you get those. I think there are some posts about what skills serve you best early - I'll see if I can track any down, and put them as a mod pick.

It also partly depends if you are in an agency where people can help you with their smarts skills, searching cases for you, then leaving you to solve them. This will allow you to build up those all-important Interrogation and Intimidation skills for interviewing suspects and townspeople.

You need to subscribe to join an agency, but it is very worth it. There you will find guidance such as this, but with people having a vested interest in your success!

There you can also share gear, so put on smarts gear from the locker when searching, then tough gear when out on the case, and so on.
