For the cheerfully pessimistic detective!

1. Your client did it.

2. Buying Advanced Thread Analysis means that all threads immediately disappear from the crime scene.

3. The question you need answered most is the one the witness clams up on.

I'm sure more experienced players can add to the list. Care to have a go?

8. Your research ability eliminates a suspect that none of the evidence may imply as the murderer.

9. You manage to squeeze three questions from a hard-to-persuade townie that has no alibis. You go to the other hard-to-persuade townie that has two alibis and you can't get a single question.

((That last one has happened to me a good few times.))

10. You find more than one piece of left-handed handwriting evidence, but then, shattering statistics, 80%-90% of the suspects are left-handed.

11. Chance of 70-something persuades a suspect/townie, but not high-90s.

12. Once you get your hands on that expensive Handwriting Analysis, all (exaggeration) of the handwriting evidence you find is the same. Right-handed.

You get more than one piece of evidence that your contact can identify. All pieces belong to people with valid alibis

You found out who the killer is, but he goes into hiding.
All the townies have already clammed up on you when you worked hard on finding the killer.

Everyone in the agency needs help with their POD cases. Case files is full of them.
The only agent that has POD as contact is so slow that he still cant open this level.
You do your best in helping him get to higher level, then he dissapears...

The more desprate you want to get a contact in your home town, the easier it is to get a contact (especially a PE one) in a town you're going to because of a Hunt.

(After 5+ favors in Delhi, no Contact. THEN, went to Shanghai for a hunt, got PE contact on first favor)

You need one last favor to capture a treasure. You get to your last favor and its the wrong person. The first favor the next day is the correct person, but the treasure has already been captured by another agency.
