Think about it in real life. Though I'm sure it's happened, how often would someone hire a detective to prosecute a crime that they themselves committed? I would suggest making it less likely that your client commits the murder- it gives us more money, too :P

One faction skill from the Dies Arcanum Brotherhood gives you the pickpocket skill. Then you will get paid if a client is gulity.....it is something to work towards.

Bizarrely enough, it does happen, though referring to real-life as a reference is a bit of a non-starter anyway as it's very rare for PIs to investigate definite murders. More often, they will investigate deaths that have been ruled as accidental, suicide, etc but the family do not believe the verdict.

Personally, I think having the client as the guilty party is rather good. Although it can be frustrating when you get a string of them on successive cases, it adds an element of suspense and risk (particularly if you pay any bribes). As for pickpocketing, I've had my eyes on that skill for a while now : o )
