Hmm... so I guess he needed that money to bribe the shady guy. Too bad he couldn't make it.
The infant mortality rate of this game is high. I almost had to retire once before when I (foolishly) started playing the intermediate mysteries. I spent my money on useless things like the Magnifying Glass. I also gave money to find Big Lucy's out of curiosity. Bah!
When I look back, I feel very lucky that I'm still in the business. And now I'm playing hard mysteries everyday and have enough money to pay the shady guy if I messed up 7 times in a row. Not that I make any mistake lately anyway.
So, Daniel, don't give up! The game is at the hardest when you're a newbie. After you've gotten out of easy state safely, you'll be fine.
