Your standing with La Cosa Nostra will improve, if you solve this case.

The Order of Socrates would like to see this matter go away.

when you get these messages should you quit if you dont want your stading to drop with a particular group or should you try and solve as many cases as possible regardless of standings

Depends on the case. If you're doing a favor just ignore the message since a favor will not change your political status, but regular cases you should quit if you don't want the standing mentioned to change.

It depends on what you want to go for.

At the moment you're already in with La Cosa Nostra, and if you want to keep building up your standings with that faction, then yes by all means solve the case and do the little jobs every day. If, on the other hand, you want to get in with the Order, then it would probably be better to quit the case as it's easier to change factions when your standings with them aren't too high.

However, in general I would say that solving as many cases as possible is preferable, especially when you're not subscribed as quitting just one will mean you won't get the chance to do a favour until the following day, and these are very handy in terms of getting gear and possibly contacts :)

according this...Is there a limit of quitting cases or there isn't any limited number?

You can quit as many cases as you want, it won't harm you in any way (whereas 3 falses will get your detective retired) - but you get the option to do a favour for one of the townspeople after every 4 successfully solved cases (this includes the previous favour if you managed to solve it).
This means that with the limit of 3 daily cases to non-subscribers, a quit (or false) case will "deprive" you of the chance for a favour and you'll have to wait till the next day to get a chance do one as you won't have enough cases :)
