I just saw two new buttons in the map overview = research and fortune

I never saw those before (I used to keep a bookmark to refresh pages). I just finished my first "incredibly hard" mission as f2p. I also saw I just reached the 10k xp level.

It's quasi impossible the dev just added a new feature to the game just yet (the game is not in active developmetn anymore). hence... are there certain UI element unlocks upon reaching certain xp tresholds?

These buttons unlock after reaching 10,000 XP.

Are there any other "surprises" at other XP thesholds?

At 100,000 XP you can start Almost Impossible cases.

At 1 mil XP you can get a cape and become a superhero crime fighting detective.
