Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

It's so weird, I think I've played too many games or something...I seem to be assigning people with allegiances based off just their posts. Brrr. I swear I was a facts-only person! :P

The mission 1 team + Sal for this mission does NOT mean that any change in mission results will automatically be attributed to Sal. If there is a spy on this team, they will sabotage as they can't afford to be two missions down right in the beginning. If this mission succeeds, I will pick the same team (without me on it, yeah!) when it's my turn as leader, and with our 5 YES votes, you can win the Resistance the whole game. That'd be amazing. But I don't think the chances of you coming up with an all-Res team right now is too high. If leadership rolls around to me on this mission, I'll pick the mission 1 team + me. And I am Resistance (although it isn't of much use me just saying that).

Oh yeah, why a difference in mission results can't just be attributed to Sal's addition: because any spy on this Mission 2 team (could very be Sal too, to avoid making too many assumptions) would have to sabotage, and now they have plenty of people to accuse. Previous members could blame Sal and/or say that it was probably somebody who lay low the first time around, and Sal could use the second argument. So a loss here doesn't prove as much as you might think it will.

Also, I think that's legal, Sindy, it's been done in previous games; you could call it character evidence. It's also why it's sometimes a challenge playing with people who you've never played with before/seen playing before. But the Announcer has the final word.

I got your point, Bela. But at least it's one of clues we can base on. That's why I also asked AspenK and Sindy about their thought also.

Anyway, just hope that we get a very good luck in this game although, frankly, it'll be boring playing a game like that :D

From my reading of some of the speculating going on, I think I'm being set up to look like a spy. And it looks to me like it's going well. I'm not a hundred percent sure why, but this team scares me some now.

Actually, this mission makes me more nervous than the 1st one because if we win this, the game will be very for us since the spies get difficult to win at 3 later missions. But anyway, I already gave you guys my confidence that you all are Resistance. If you are so, it will be easy for us to deal with our game :D That's what I wish lol

A: Yes, it's like Bela said--character evidence. However, like all things surrounding this game, there is always uncertainty. :)
