With the firm application of bolt cutters the rusty padlock on the gates of the Boardwalk has been prised off. For a small fee at the ticket booth Detectives can take some down time to wander around the Boardwalk.
Whilst familiarising yourselves with the layout is a great idea, the real meat of the Boardwalk is the Carousel Furore; the times for these are listed on the case tab. The main way to get tickets is by solving cases at Really Really Hard or above in difficulty (the higher the difficulty, the better your chances). Your best chances of getting a ticket are an hour before a Furore is due to start, but if the tickets are gone they're gone.
Finally there is a second type of ticket; a back-up ticket. They will not be hard to find.
Happy sleuthing, and as ever please let me know when the bugs crop up and I'll deal with them ASAP.

How many cases on average do you have to play to get a ticket? I went my whole day and didn't one... :( Well, tomorrow is new day! I hope those who got one are enjoying it all!

you have a higher chance of getting a ticket the hour before a furore starts. you nly need to do really, really hard cases. I did 3 ai's and got nothing, first really, really hard case i played, i got one.
and booyah, winner, winner, chicken dinner. and that is the end of my beta testing advantage i'd say!

You can increase your chances by doing cases within one hour of a furore starting. So for example, if there's one starting at 8, you'd want to solve cases between 7-8. You're also more likely to get a ticket if your cases are harder.
For references, when I did "almost impossible" cases within one hour of a furore, I got a ticket in the first case I solved. It seems pretty generous!
You can also get backup tickets from faction heads, though I'm not sure yet how many points you need with them for them to entrust you with a ticket.

When the tickets are gone they are gone. What is the maximum number of players for a furore, and is there a minimum number of players for the game? I imagine there might be a time or two when a solo player could be the only one with a ticket.

I believe 5 is the max. And when there is less than 4, the game is populated by bots.

Minimum number players is 4 with a minimum number of REAL players of 1. The server will generate up to 3 bots to play against. So when I played last, I played against glasse, and Riza and "Joseph Hollis" (who was a bot). So you never have to wait around for someone else to play against. You can always do a furore, even if it's only against yeti's cunningly planned AI.
I want to say the max is 8 real players, but I'm not 100% sure.

Wait yeah, it's not 5, my bad! I played in a max game today where 5 people ultimately finished, but I don't remember the total number of players.
