Hello everyone. It's been some time since we've had a game of Resistance, so I'll be hosting one (without story) for everyone to enjoy. If you've never played before, feel free to jump right into the world of uncertainty and lies. I promise lots of fun. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Jintan there is the possibility of there being 2 spies on the 1st mission but the probability is no there was most likely just the one. At this point There is no way for anyone except the spies to pick a 100% Team of resistance players. We may deduce but we can't KNOW with certainty who the spies are yet. Hopefully we will garner more information, possibly from my team selection.

I'm sorry for being MIA, and I'm back. I don't know why so many people were confused, but I'd said that if Sindy's team was approved, I'd use the spotlight card on her, but that I'd *really* prefer it if it was voted down. I have a quite a few pages of posts to work with now; I've read through it all once already, I'll answer whatever pops up as it came up now.

I am not being emotional, and I'll be freer than usual today, I'll pop in every now and then and address where you think I'm not making sense. Sindy, on the other hand, is being so transparently theatrical, and the way she immediately nuked her own team once she thought I wasn't using my spotlight card on her reaffirms my suspicions that there was another spy on her team. [Jan-27-2017 07:21] She knows she can't communicate openly on the boards the way Yeti did (there's even a chance he wasn't a spy then; I don't remember if there was something in particular Yeti did or if it's my general distrust of him at work here. :P I have some time now; I'll read through the whole thread and try to organise my suspicions. And Cathy, I have no doubt there are at least a few people that read/will read this thread. :D)

I think I'll look up towntelling too. :| I have only a very faint idea of how the jintan-Autumn thing was started, and it's fading fast.

Wait, from what I see, Sindy introduced the fad of being confused about whether I was going to use my spotlight card on this team or not. Makes a lot more sense now. :)

To clarify something that Cathy brought up [Jan-27-2017 15:10]: ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE is used to reveal the leader's allegiance to a player of his/her choice. I was mission leader at the time that card popped up, so I had to use it to reveal my allegiance to somebody, and I outlined my reasons for doing what I did in the same post (or the next). Otherwise I would have given somebody else that card and asked them to reveal their allegiance to me - continued in next post.

Actually there is kinda hope for a 4-man resistance. We could try 3 new players and Devi, and we spotlight on Devi. If Devi flips spy, then Devi and Sindy are spy. Because Devi won't pick another spy, so Bela is cleared, and Sindy is lying.

And if Devi is resistance or she voted for the mission 2 to success, but the team still fails, then at least one is a spy in the newcomers.

But I still prefer 2 players from the last mission and we put a spotlight in one of the two. And we add 2 new. Because its much easier to get 2 new resistance than 3 out of 5.

But your idea is not totally losing. It would just mean that we need to be perfect from mission 3 onwards if mission 2 fails which most probably will.

Sorry about the slip-up. I was very tired yesterday.

As I've stated, and as Lou has acknowledged, I vote NO to this team.

It'd be great if I'm wrong about Cathy, but she is by far the most likely person to be a spy in that line up. We can not afford to give the spies another win, even if it confirms Cathy in the process.

I'm not sure how I'll vote this team for now. As for using the powet card on me, please do. Nothing to hide here. Well, unless it happens like last time when Yeti lied about me being spy. Heh. Yeah,. I'm with the good guys this tjme. I think I was only spy once and I sucked at it :))

(I was pretty sure I'd be back sooner; better late than never?)

Otherwise I would have given somebody else that card and asked them to reveal their allegiance to me (probably DW or Yeti, because then I'd almost certainly have known the other's allegiance too - if the person that I'd checked on was Resistance, I'd make sure they were on every team even if it meant that I wasn't because there's only a 1 in 3 chance they could be a spy even from the point of view of a normal Resistance player then).

In response to jintan's post [Jan-27-2017 19:20], I don't know if Cathy's "order of discovery" disclaimer even applied to her spies list, but even if it did, I suppose that since she pegged me as Resistance last, putting Sindy down for spy also came towards the end.

(I am so sorry, I did forget to vote after my "please vote NO" spiel, so yeah...thank god it was a NO. :/)

To jintan's post [Jan-28-2017 03:20]: I had to reveal my allegiance to somebody as leader, and I thought the next leader was a better choice than a random one. At the very least, I know she's a spy now, though the result did embroil me in slightly more controversy than I was prepared to take on...

Sindy, we both know you muddied the waters when it came to what I'd said; my "poor resistance player" had the right idea before you did your little about-face on your own team.

Well, hello, Bela!

I've just finished sorting through 100s of pages of medical records and still have 25 depo exhibits to put together so I can't take the time to analyze your posts but I just have one question for you.

If you *know* I'm a spy why did you wait to vote? Why didn't you just vote while you were posting your last post? If I was playing and saw a team coming up with a member whom I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt was a spy I wouldn't wait. I would vote right away so it was done and I didn't have to worry about it.

I am really enjoying the game right now. Because the mission is too delicate and we are too deep in the game. Do you agree if the person in the mission forgot to vote and he is a resistance player, The Announcer can say his vote is randomized but in reality he just automatically makes a SUCCESS vote for him. But if a spy forgot to vote, his vote is really randomized. So the game won't be disrupted?
