I've started work on the next update for Sleuth, and as promised it's going to be a content update. However, it's going to take a while before any of you see it, at least two months, potentially far longer than that.

Now I would hate to leave you all in the Sleuth wilderness, totally devoid of changes, so every one to two weeks I'll create an update from the suggestions you give here. An example of a small update (from the desk of Bela Talbot III) would be including your most recent fortune telling in the case file so long as you haven't discovered any new suspects since then.

Whilst this is going on I'll also fix up the small bugs lying around the game. For example, there's a certain accessory devouring fox that needs reining in, and possibly relocating. So don't worry about suggesting bug fixes here. Keep it to small things you'd like to see, or small annoyances you'd like changed.

Yeti *is* a lazy sod, it's terrible. Last time I checked the update I've been writing since forever is at around 8000 lines of code, but it really, really needs that final push to polish everything off. Whenever I try to code in the evenings now my youngest will pull things off the table, or pull my hair, or scream, or carry out all of the above. Consequently I've lazed my way into coding Sleuth about once a fortnight, but that rate really needs to increase.

I could never be a programmer. I see "8000 lines of code" and I'm thinking "holy hell! It's going to break!" And then I remember that's an update. And it seems like it will be quite a large update, but it's still an update. I just don't have the patience for that.

Imagine writing thousands of lines of code, spending weeks or even months on it, and then you run it, and nothing happens... Or something happens but it's certainly not what you were trying to accomplish. And then you realize yeti isn't getting paid and is doing this in his "free" time while working and managing a family.

Nope. I couldn't do it. But I'm really glad there are people who are willing to do it!

Oh, it's not about being lazy per se, but I'm always pressed for time when playing and when I switch cities it's annoying. Do I even have to mention I often forget where the heck I am? Nah.

All of Yeti's effort is highly appreciated. I know how difficult having a screaming kid is. Mine does it all the time, especially if I'm caught at the computer and I don't hand him the mouse. He's walking now, too, so there is NO escaping him. Umf.

Thankfully it's not as bad as writing out thousands of lines then running it, you instead handle it in chunks at a time. Build a little bit, run that bit of code to make sure it's working properly, then you build the next bit and so on, every piece is tested as you develop it. Then you test it again when the whole project is together, then you release it, then you fix the hundreds of bugs that didn't come up at any point during testing. Bloody bugs. So yeah, 'holy hell! it's going to break' probably does sum it up. :P

Just wait until he's got his speech sorted, Devi (I'm assuming he can only say a handful of words right now). Speech and movement combined into one adorably infuriating little distraction. Your one sounds pretty useful already depriving you of that mouse.

Yeti, would it be possible to enable a director to move agency headquarters when he/she is somewhere else, not in the home city?

But then who would pack the moving boxes?

Maybe a moving crew? That you can hire for, say, 150.000 dollars? :)

The rookies who had to stay behind and clean out the case files. Agents if there are no rookies.

I'd like to take my apartment with me like a trailer or moble home.

Or at least a suitcase, Sophie. Maybe use it in an accessory slot, only be able to use it when you're in a different city than your apartment, have it hold 3 items or so, you can only use one item to use at a time, (so select a smart item before searching the scene or doing surveillance and then tough/charm when interviewing suspects.)

To use it, maybe go to one of your contacts (so you could only use it when you have a contact in that city) and ask them to hold it for you. Then you would select the item you want to use at that time. It would automatically come with you when you leave the city you're visiting. (but to leave your home city, you would have to "pack it" and ehen you got home, you would "unpack it.")

Although that all sounds rather complicated...
