In honor of the recent Nemesis Hunt expansion, I'm setting up a way for everyone to get involved in the hype, even if you can't currently open a nemesis hunt!

Here's how it works:
From now until the end September 20th (Sleuth time), I will be accepting entries into the Nemesis Pool.

What's the Nemesis Pool?
It's a list of guesses that participants have made about WHEN the first nemesis will be caught in the game. To participate, you'll need to select a date and time (remember, everything is based on sleuth time) that you think the first nemesis will actually be caught. You'll also need to send me, Serges, a wire transfer in the amount of $10,000 as your entry fee.

After September 20th, I'll post the list of guesses in order of time. When the first nemesis is finally caught, the person whose guess is closest to the actual date and time (regardless if the guessed time is before or after the actual date) will win 100% of the total entry fees.

A few points:
Yes, you can participate in the pool whether or not you're in a nemesis hunt.
No, I don't know what the total payout will be since it's dependent on how many people participate; the more entries, the higher the prize!
No, I will not be participating in the pool for conflict-of-interest reasons.
Yes, there is a way to know for sure the exact date and time when the first nemesis was captured.
Yes, a $10,000 entry will actually cost you $11,000 due to wire transfer fees.
Yes, multiple entries are permitted, but no more than 5 per player please.

So again, to participate, wire me $10,000 and PM me the date and time you think the first nemesis will be captured. Good luck, and remember... I've mentioned in the past that I believe it will take weeks, or even months, to capture a nemesis!

There's just under a week left to send your predictions about when the first nemesis will be captured. Note: there might be some confusion; this pool isn't about WHO captures the first nemesis, it's about WHEN the first one will be captured by anyone. All you need to do to participate is select a date and time, and PM it to me along with a $10,000 wire transfer.

So far I've received 3 predictions total.

I've decided to extend the sign-up date a couple days, for anyone just now realizing what this is. We're up to something like 12 entries now, which is good, but could be better.

So, I will continue to accept bets in the Nemesis Pool until end of Sleuth day on Sunday, September 23rd.

I have been holding off to see if my second Nemesis clue is indeed as obscure as my first... Haha :)

I know I've been MIA for the last week or so... apologies, but a job project has been eating up my free time lately. I'll post the pool predictions in the next day or so. Thanks for your patience!

It strikes me as hilarious now that my predictions for the first captures were for around now! One was for the 26th (I think) and the other was for around the beginning of November. I made those predictions so far back ... and before Serges had revealed that he solved after 28 clues. Ah well - good luck to whoever has made a more realistic prediction :)

Do you think this is still valid? Serges hasn't been on for some time, but I would love to know if anyone guessed right.
