It is rumored that the ornate palace gates of Shangri-La have finally been opened to the public for the first time in known history. The Prince is making his debut into the public eye with a brilliant gala hosted by the Prince himself: an exclusive invitation-only event attended only by the most prominent and affluent people from countries all over the world.

Some commoners have been invited to this rare event--but not as guests. The Prince's most trusted advisor has particularly collected special operatives to patrol the event: the world's brightest, swiftest, and most skilled. You will be entrusted with making sure that everything goes off without a hitch. But there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames, along with the Prince himself.

Five minutes before the event is scheduled to start, a report of a most alarming nature reaches the operatives' ears. There has been a breach in the ranks. Some spies have infiltrated the group! But since they have never seen each other's faces, there is no way to tell whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure the Prince's gala goes off without a hitch. If he is pleased at the end of the night, they will be rewarded handsomely. Sources say he is forgiving of small mishaps, but when pushed too far...

The Prince's reputation is at stake. Will his gala be a phenomenal success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Something else just occurred to me about possibly why Serges did what he did, but I'll wait until he says something. Don't want to put any ideas in his head.

Nic, agreed. And looking at the player order, I think the smart Resistance move would definitely have been to suss out my allegiance primarily, as a next leader. Or even Adam Carter, as the leader after that. Vulkie is a strange choice, and Andi even more so because of how far down this list she is.

So it makes me curious why he wouldn't choose either you or Biggie, on the grounds that you are at the end of the list, but he would choose Andi. Not to mention for all his lawyering the last game, to give new players a crack at the action seems tenuous reasoning at best. Especially in the first mission, which even if it doesn't go through, can be a valuable insight on players and allegiances, as demonstrated in the last round.

And also...

alright, your spreadsheet wins. What color muumuu will it be today?

Although on the flip side, if you truly are Resistance- it'll be amazing if spies can squeeze past our combined spread-sheeting/ copious note-taking. :P

Wow is all I have to say. I would love to see the difference it would make to play with you all in person.

Well kagome, I wouldn't have a spreadsheet so I would probably start twitching and having a nervous breakdown around mission 3 or so.

Oh nic I so missed your concise summaries of events the last game. Resistance just isn't the same without the possibility that nic will end up in a padded room somewhere.

I actually completely agree with her reasoning though. Serges has gone in the complete opposite direction he did last game, and as a spy in that game, his method screwed up big time. Why wouldn't he have proceeded basically the same way this time?

That being said I'm not completely convinced yet. I still maintain that I voted no for fact finding purposes only, and as I've said I'm going to try to think more, talk less this round. Mostly because my tendency to just post without thinking has gotten me in trouble in both the other games. And also I gave myself carpal tunnel last time ;)

Alright. For this mission proposal I would propose:

Molly Maltese
NicNic
Adam Carter

Myself and nicnic because crazy is good on its own, but crazy squared can only be better.

Adam Carter because he has been declared Resistance. If there's a sabotage on this mission, we can examine the possibility that he and Vulkie were in cahoots, but I doubt it. I think this team is full up of Resistance, and should pass.
