Hey all :) Bored today and was thinking about all the cool stuff I would love to see implemented in the game to make it better and more interesting.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a place to have the VH clues so you don't have to worry about missing one or running out of bio space to post them?

I'm curious what everyone else would want if anything were possible. What would you like to see in Sleuth?

(Maybe Ben is listening! ha)

There's no harm in fleshing ideas out. Even if it is just for fancy.

The thing I'd really like to do, and have never been able to con / cajole/ coerce Ben into doing, is to make agencies look more like apartments. *coughs* we ended up doing it for Shades and it does make Agencies feel a lot more like a building than a set of links.

Oh I'd also like a Sleuth car, but would settle for a pony.

Happy Sleuthing!

Alright now lets stay civil and remember we're all friends and love this game please. Amber please dont lets antagonize the situation here.

A peaceable solution could be that Cairo *could* be opened to TH's but it would be a single city hunt that could ONLY be opened in Cairo, therefore newbies would not have to worry about not having access as only agencies WITH access would be the only ones there to open said hunt. On another note, why not make a couple of new treasures that are Cairo only?

Does everyone agree on this solution? Undead and alive?

I still say a sleuth fair would be kinda fun. :D

*A limit on number of favors completed before getting a contact. (I know, that would lead to people being able to pick who they get. for example, if the limit is 50, and someone has completed 49 without getting a contact, they can basically choose who their contact would be, by only completing favors for townie X.)
*A limit on repeat clues during an AVH (sorry, but three days of completed cases with repeat clues would try the patience of a saint, and I think we can all agree I'm no saint ;) )
*The ability to go back and try again on failed AVHs (most of which i just got fed up with the frickin repeat clues and guessed.)
*Ability to switch from steepers to tigers or vice versa (although why someone would go from tigers to steepers is beyond me, since the game is obviously biased toward the tigers.)
That's all I can think of for now.

I like the idea of opening up Cairo to TH's. For newer players, it gives them something to work towards. Part of the fun of this game is exploring and learning. But it also keeps things fresh for those that have been around for a while. Seasoned players are valuable to the game too. (I point to the "resurgence" of players like myself.)

Jason's idea of a World Fair is amazingly cool. It is perfect for the time period we play in. Magicians, Vaudville, new inventions, a vision of the future...

I'm wondering if it might be time for some new cities to join the roster. Paris, Berlin, Moscow, or how awesome would Venice be???? Istanbul for an exotic flair? I can see it now, Airship travel to Berlin, gondolas in Venice, rug and spice merchants in Istanbul.

What about some new transitions/twists. Play up the Noir/Pulp side of Sleuthville. Run into more spies, have a suspect get picked up randomly by the cops for that bank heist that happened last week, your case stops anarchists from assassinating the (insert local faction leaders name here).

hehehe
My dear Detective Autumnsprings aren't you a bit overeacting?
I really see no reason why you are so touchy.
Yes this post is about new ideas and this obviously means proposing and discussing them. Are you against the discussion part ? Please help me understand as i really find it difficult to follow you.

SS yes i like yr ideas (and i can only hope that saying so will not make Detective Autumnsprings touchy again) conserning the car and the new look of the agencies. Maybe this is also a good way to spend our sleuth money.

What i would really like to see in Sleuth is a way to make all these xp points and gold a bit usefull

Detective jroepel excellent idea concerning the new city. I really don't care what this city could be....simply a new city will add a lot in the game. World fair is also a nice idea that i forgot to mention

No I'm not against discussing them. Constructive criticism is a wonderful thing. Destructive criticism, however, is not. And that seems to be the crypts specialty. I'm only saying if you poke holes in people's ideas, it is better to offer ideas to fix the holes you reveal, or offer a whole new idea that circumvents the holes. I see that you have finally contributed a suggestion to this thread! Thank you! That's all I was saying. I don't feel people should always tear down others, and in several threads that's what VC tries to do. (At least that is how it appears to me. For examples, look at Jason's new competition thread, or SS's thread about the eagle pin. Instead of thanking SS for something HE doesn't even celebrate, and doesn't benefit from at all, you say it should have higher stats, etc.) To be clear, I AM NOT TRYING TO START A FIGHT. I put that in all caps, because I want everyone read it. I'm not. Truly. This is just something that I have noticed since my return, and it gets old after a while because you know who the naysayers will be, and that they will offer nothing in the way of a suggestion to fix problems. I'm simply saying VC is very good at finding potential problems with ideas (and I'm not being sarcastic. That is something that benefits the entire community.) I would just like to see some of the ideas VC can come up with. They obviously will see any weaknesses and therefore, should be able to come up with even better ideas to suggest for the community.

I sincerely hope an argument isn't about to break out here. VS is just trying to be a soundboard for peoples ideas and may i add that if it were NOT for a few people being MY soundboard my contest wouldn't have gotten along as far as it did. It was a little idea and it needed a lot of tweaking to make it go from an idea to a good idea. So i dont think VS or Vampirion is trying to rain on anyone's parade here, they're just pointing out loopholes so that an idea becomes tweaked into a good idea. Amber/Autumnsprings we're all friends here so lets not turn this thread into petty bickering. Lets all play nice and keep the ideas coming, the sleuth gods might take a look so lets be on our best behavior.

And Justin i love your ideas about new cities and what you said:

"Jason's idea of a World Fair is amazingly cool. It is perfect for the time period we play in. Magicians, Vaudville, new inventions, a vision of the future... "

^ Dude that's just awesome, i wasn't even thinking that far, i just wanted to think about fair food haha! Good idea though.

Amber do NOT drag my contest into this, for the record i found VS and NQ to be very nice and helpful. If it weren't for them and cfm and biggie my contest wouldn't have gotten as far as it did. I just had an idea pop in my head and thanks to a few people hearing my idea and helping me by being a soundboard i was able to work out the kinks, lets play nice children.
