People of Sleuthville, lend me your ears!
I call out now to all you tomb-raiders and treasure seekers! To those who love the thrill of a good treasure hunt!
In the spirit of friendly competition i propose a challenge.
This challenge will require 10 adventurous detectives to be split onto 2 Teams, each team consisting of 5 members, in 2 newly made Agencies of my own making in NY.
These two agencies will compete against each other in Treasure Hunts.
The first team to get their agency to 7,000 Fame wins:
$200,000 Prize to be split among the team evenly.
(Working out to $40,000 a piece for each teammate...not too shabby huh?)
Also each team after the contest ends will vote amongst themselves on who alone among their team was MVP (someone who went above and beyond, did a really excellent job, etc) The MVP's from Both teams will win a 3 month gift subscription from me personally.
You also win bragging rights and honor for your home agencies on being an awesome treasure hunter.
Whether your team chooses single or multi-city hunt strategy is entirely up to you.
Obviously this competition will run for a while, (I'm venturing a guess at anywhere between 2 weeks to a month depending on how luck smiles on you or how good you and your teammates are).
It goes without saying that you would be required to resign temporarily from whatever agency you are currently in to join my competing agencies for the contest. You are allowed to enter an alternate detective if you wish if you're too attached to have your main detective leave your agency, and the only rules are:
1) Absolutely NO Password Sharing.
2) Only one entry per contestant
3) Have fun.
I want to know who among you treasure hunters really has what it takes to come together and co-ordinate as a team to truly be the best.

Jason,
What a brilliant and novel idea. If I were younger like Summer's niece, I would also say something about nipples.
I think you are going about trying to set an arbitrary limit the wrong way. I am posting the history of Queen's Gambit as an example in the following post...

Gambit was a hard-hitting startup agency in those years. We had exemplary sleuths in a Sleuth world that was rather lean. Notice that it took a month to reach 10,000 xp.
That 10,000 xp benchmark was achieved by going hard after TH's and by everyone mostly doing AI cases. We also had some real power hitters at that time.
My suggestion is this. Why don't you set a time limit--maybe 2 weeks. Then award the winner to whoever is ahead at that time limit.
With today's battleground of many more active agencies, this contest could be a rough one trying to achieve an arbitrary xp goal.

I see where you are coming from NQ. You mean don't set a Fame points limit - instead set a time limit for the contest (e.g. 2 weeks) and award the prize to whichever agency has the most Fame by then?
Sounds good and probably more logical than a 'first-to- X points' scenario. What do you think Jason?

that's a lot of info to sift through, NQ. I see your point, but if its just based on how many fame points you can get to, there's no point in doing the smaller hunts to get to a goal right? you'd just go after all the large ones and rack up the points.
That's a strategy but it seems to kind of defeat the purpose.

to further clarify, during the 26 days it took you to reach 10K, you only won three treasure hunts. The focus of these agencies is to ONLY treasure hunt, so they'll probably have more than that.

oh and between Nov. 27 to Dec. 1, you managed 4000 fame points with only two more treasures. I think this number is more than doable (last post I swear haha)

NQ you make a valid suggestion but biggie makes a valid counterpoint. Initially when i thought up this idea i was against the idea of having a time limit soley because of how randomly Treasure Hunts are generated, i wanted to try to keep this contest on an even playing field to have you people show me what you've got when it comes to hunting treasure, I really value your input NQ but im sticking to my first to 15,000 fame thing, as biggie stated the focus of the competing agencies is to ONLY treasure hunt, and so 15,000 fame shouldnt take too long to do so.
Also NQ i sincerely hope i see you or one of your agency mates enter this contest, id love to see at people from all different agencies to get involed and mingle with each other here, so we can all meet, greet and be friends :)
Seriously people, this is my plea to you hunters of sleuthville, Show me what you got. :)

Hello all! I would love to join if there is still space available. I am another revived detective that has been out for about 5 years, but am looking forward to working with other detectives and doing Treasure Hunts again!
