Does anyone know how I can get a pleasant, stylish hat? Oh, and I'm a newbie.

I think you can either buy one from the Detective stores in each city or get one from a favor (a special case that you can take after solving three mysteries and then talking to someone in town about something you can help them with).

Three ideas come to mind.

1. I see you're Subscribed. You might consider joining an Agency. Often, agencies will either loan or give their people equipment that they need/want. The detective may or may not have to pay the agency back for the gear, depending on the policies (ie.-rules) the agency lives by.

2. It's much maligned, but in New York, there's a little place called Big Lucy's Cabaret. Any detective can go there for the right price (and at the right time), and, with a little bit of luck, possible acquire a brand new stylish chapeau (that's French for hat ;-). Down side to Lucy's -- prices are a bit more expensive than normally, and you may need to make multiple trips to find just what you're looking for. But this is a valid option for you, and it does not matter if you're Subbed or Unsubbed.

3. Again, since you're Subbed, you do have some advantages over the average Joe. One of them is the ability to travel. You might consider going to another city and seeing what lies in the borders there. One never knows what one can pick up in an exotic locale (especially if one gets to know the locals a bit, ie, -- go hang out with a Faction or two. ;-).

These are all possible options for you. You might consider trying any or all of them. Hope this helps a bit. Good luck with your wardrobe expansion. ;-)

You can also look at the Trading Post Thread located under Sleuth Talk. Unfortunately at this time there are no hats for trade/sale. Keep checking back.

I have to say, with all the other new content, I'm surprised I still haven't come across a more appealing feminine hat yet. Maybe I need to visit a expert milliner for advice.
