Hi all is it just me or are the placement of the links really awekuard now. I noticed when i logged in that the questions are now on the right side and the suspects who you are checking are down underneath. This causes one to look up down and all around. Just an opinion i think this is awekuard its to busy. Just my opinion but i thought the questions and the suspects you were checking were just fine underneath the picture. i found this much easier then the new way its set up. thoughts opinions.

yeah, the links moved. I actually don't like it, either.

Sorry this post is kinda long, but I'd have to agree that the new format does make things look too busy (and leaves a big blank area where I'm used to reading when questioning a suspect), but we're probably not going to notice the change much (if at all) in a litte while since we'll be used to seeing it then. However, I do like the way some of the links that were only one line take up more than one line now since it makes it harder to accidentally click the wrong link. I personally wouldn't have made the change unless something else was coming. If that's the case this could make sense (it might be a good idea depending on what the next thing added is). Just a thought here (and maybe an idea), but thinking about it, those notebooks so many have asked for, they could go in the blank area. That would make sense because the notebooks would probably be used the most while questioning suspects/townspeople, and I haven't yet noticed any changes to other screens. So maybe the change is in order to put a notebook at the bottom of the suspect screens then at the side of the townsperson screens (or maybe the townsperson links are about to be moved so the notebook can be at th bottom there too) - either would make sense, work, and look good, in my opinion.

Well folks, I think we need to evaluate. I usually don't like links being moved, just because it throws you off. But once you get used to change, you often see it is for the better.

But did you notice:
1. When interviewing a suspect, and going on to the next, you already have your mouse in the right place. And don't have to move it to the other side of the page.
2. Checking with evidence with townspeople is carefully still left on the left side of the screen, close to the back button.
3. For people with smaller screens, less scrolling is involved.

i think it was made because after the last look improvment ppl were complaining about the scrolling and asked ben to move the links next to picture. ben just did what we asked for.
personally i didnt mind the scrolling cause i have the scroll thingy on my mouse, but some did complain about it. i also found it strange and a bit busy looking up and down left and right, but got used to it after 3 cases.

It took time but now I like the way it is all on the right hand side. I would like the map on the top right as well, but hey that may be just me. Any way I think it's good but as I said it seemed weird at first. Thanks Ben for think of ways to improve things.

Actually Bella that is brilliant. If we have the map on the top right, and all other pictures on the top right......even less moving around. The stuff you click most would all be on the left, and so is the back button on internet explorer.

I have a scroll thingy on my mouse too, but still this is much handier.

I could go with that put all the pics on the right and the links on the left now that would make everything easier.

Ben, thank you it is way much easier 4 me. My wrist would hurt so bad trying to move & click so often. Thanx for an ergonomically correct website! 2 thumbs up here :) :) :) :)

The primary motivation was so people with smaller screens didn't have to scroll as much.

It's easy enough to change back if people decide that's best.
