When you buy a book, does it contribute to your skill level or anything else?

I think it's 120 xp per book, unless that's changed lately.

There are diffrent amounts for different books, I don't remember them all off hand but there are some that are worth more xp than others

Don't quote me on this, but i think obtaining some of the books is also a step in obtaining certain themes. Some of the old timers may be able to help you in this process if you are really keen to do it. Good luck! L

If you like reading anyway, they're very good. In addition, some of the questions given for the factions are about those books, so it can save you some time and effort googling for answers.

They also give a small amount of experience when you take the time to actually READ them. So yes, as the wife said, they do have actual value to them.

Hope that sheds some enlightenment on the subject. *wink*
