I must admit i did not care too much for Dan Brown, i could handle him better if he had more than one target. I do have two suggestions though for the crowd. For mysteries i would recomend Boris Starling, british author, only two books so far but very good and for a good historical type novel i would recomend Katherine Neville, she writes some very well researched and intelligent books, she should she is almost head of the IMF.

Maj- the thread with the Dan Brown and Da Vinci code stuff (GREAT thread) was started by Jstkdn and is a couple pages back on this Board. It's simply called Da Vinci Code.

The Eyre Affair is a really good book. I highly reccomend it.

Who's it by?
Another series just came to mind - anyone heard of Cam Jansen? (At least, I think that was her name.) Had a photographic memory and said "Click" every time she noticed something unusual?

I used to read Nancy Drew and Cam Jansen and Encyclopedia Brown when I was a kid. Mostly, since then, I've just watched lots of Christie mysteries on Mystery (tv show) or in movies or plays. If it's not in a form that I can digest in a couple hours, it loses the immediacy for me.

Anyway, I think Mystery is no longer being shown. Shame, really.

The Eyre Affair: is by Jasper Fforde. It is the first book in a series of equally excellent books Which as you may have noticed I really liked.

Lomine: I've seen a coupla Mystery! shows - lately, they've featured Tony Hillerman books and a British detective in N. England around WWII. I miss Poirot, Brother Cadfael, and Heat of The Sun, though.

Oh, it's still on, just not showing Christie mysteries anymore? Huh, when I was younger they had Poirot on like every other episode.

I just remembered I once saw Three Blind Mice (think that was the title) as a live theater production. That was exciting. :D

Did a lookup on it - is it Mousetrap?
Last time I saw something like that, it was an interactive dinner theater thing. Bad idea with me in the audience - I drove one of the actors nuts.

Y'know that feeling when you've eaten too much cheesecake? Dan Brown overload - I now have all four books.
