Interesting idea.
If we could have a Pet Shop in Sleuthville, what would it be good for...
I.e. if you buy a Pet, how do you know you have bought it?
What can the pet be used for?
Is there something one could do only with a pet?
Can one have more than one pet?
Is a pet something that will occupy an Accessory slot?

Would be very interesting to get some ideas as to what it could be....
- at least interesting to get the ideas for me ;-)

Irene, there is a pet that one can get from the Prince - the Parrot.

Yes, we can have more than one pet, I have two cats (Arch Villain Mascot) and one parrot.

Yes, they occupy the Accessory slots.

Hope that give you some ideas. :)

A pet shop would be a great addition. Where else to go to identify all these paw prints.. o_O

Ok, so there is a cat, a parrot and a bloodhound available. I'd say that's plenty of animals in the game already. Or you'll be mixing up the hairs you find on the crime scene with those of your posse. A new skill might be fitting as well:
