Evidence Effect

Is there a way to have a question unlocked after a piece of evidence is connected to a suspect?

For example:

The barber confirms that the hair is Bob's, this unlocks a question for Bob about the hair.

Make sense?

My brain is kinda mushy at the moment.

I can't seem to find a way for evidence to effect something else in the plot.

Thank you!

Yes, have the question to the barber unlock the question you want to ask Bob.

I thought that evidence is automatically asked of townies... so I have to make a new question after that to unlock the suspects question?

If I am wrong, let me know!

If you select physical evidence, there are a number of choices for what kind of evidence is that. It goes as follows:
Threatening note
Hair
Thread
Footprint
Other: Mention what evidence is that.

If you choose threatening note, hair, thread or footprint, the question would be created automatically and the purpose won't be fulfilled.
If you choose Other: Hair, then you can create a question:
'Can you help me identify this hair?' or something similar
The answer can be: 'Yes! This hair belongs to Bob.'
Or you can create a number of questions, asking about every suspect, to make the mystery even harder. That would be:
'Does this hair belong to Bob?'

You can use an effect on the question which reveals to whom does the evidence matches and unlock a question like:
'Why would your hair be find there when you did not even go there?'

I think that was of some help. If I am wrong anywhere, please correct me.

I'm not sure the auto list thingy works? Easier and more interesting to write the actual question for the barber, baker etc. I would rather get a bit of the storyline in the process.

You must create all the questions, including those verifying ANY evidence, including the standard foot/thread/note/hair.

When you do, simply cause the question to open the other question.

Um, Anikka, I am confused, because when I preview my mystery and I click on the Barber... the question for analysing evidence is there and I didn't have to create the question. Or do you just mean that is what I have to do for what I want to happen?

Anyway, I think I will play with it and try to figure out how to bend the plot to add what I want.

Thank you!

I have personally experienced this thing when I wrote the mystery, not to be called a mystery anyway.
At first, this auto-questioning did not work but when I started another one, which is incomplete, I saw that auto-questioning worked.
If you want to unlock questions by revealing the owner of the evidence (don't know if owner is the correct word), then try doing what I mentioned in my previous post.

It works? IT WORKS? Yay!

While I'm glad to know it works now, the answer to your original question, Magdalene, remains the same. You must create your barber question instead of using the automatic one, and make it unlock your question to Bob.

There might be another way using a twist, but I can't get it to gel in mind, and what I'm trying to think of might not actually work.

I also agree with Squirrel on this - even if you can use the automatic questioning, it really doesn't add to the storyline and you can make your question and answer much more interesting than the standard.

Okay, thank you! After I finish everything else, I will play through it and see if I like with the automatic evidence questions. If I don't like how it plays, I'll try what you all suggested!

Thanks!
