Well it never took off over on the AVL site, so Dawg Pound Investigations is proud to announce that we will be holding a tournament. lilangel and myself have been working the past few weeks to get enough teams interested and finally have them together. If all goes well, there will be more tournaments to follow which we will make open to all agencies. Our tournament will begin on Monday, April 14 and will be 4 or 5 rounds. details can be viewed here:

Any questions feel free to PM me. We will also use this thread for any trash talking that the players want to begin with. Let the fun begin! :-D

Well, I must say that Aunt Pitty just isn't herself lately. I think the rule of no cheek pinching has thrown her off her game. I'm still straggling along trying to finish this hunt.

Vbuster, great suggestion, let's see what the rest of the community thinks.

Community, post your thoughts here or PM me, please don't say what that advantage is here. Poor SS is busy enough on his VH to mod these boards! ;-) If enough people agree we will make that a rule for tourneys in the future. We feel we can't make any changes in the middle of the tourney. Sorry Auntie, that means the cheek pinching rule stays! ;-)

Yup Vbuster has a point.Being a faction head gives an advantage which can be very helpful most of the times, so I think an extra regulation must be made about this too.

Happy sleuthing:D

I Agree, but as usual I don't know what I'm talking about. I found my cat in the refrigerator the other day. Poor little thing was about frozen to death. But like I was saying I ...... oh darn, there I go again. What was I talking about? What am I agreeing to? Oh Ya, Cheek Pinching. I agree, we should have more cheek pinching in sleuth.

lilangel your point is one of the reasons that it should be banned.

The daily leader is only open to one detective per day (per faction). Apartments and sidekick cases are available to any detective. If for example every detective had an apartment how is it an unfair advantage?

I also admit that it is less of an advantage than the other two. However in general to keep being a faction leader on a hunt probably requires you to have access to Cairo as it is very hard to maintain your score while moving around.

Vbuster,
Yes apartments are open to anyone who puts the time and effort into the game. That I will agree with. Sidekicks, different story. Yes we all have people we know, but to get them to put real money up to play is a different story.

As you've seen in the first round that sidekick could have come into play. The extra case(s) is the biggest.

Apartments/faction lead is a bit different. I do asmit I played the faction lead angle so I could have that option and actually didn't need it (how sad is that for a 5 day capture). Definitely something to think about.

As it stands, we will not change the rules now as it's underway, but definitetly gives a subject for discussion. We based on Serges rules with the exception of saying aparments and sidekicks are discouraged, we said NOT allowed. Of course I cant officially track anything, I trust the players, which we will have to do with faction leads if we put the rule into place.

While we're waiting for the squirrel to finish his hunt, I'd like to be getting the teams formed for Round 2.

We're looking at starting on Wednesday, April 23. Hopefully SS can finish his hunt before then.

I, for one, am glad that so many have taken interest. I hope I'm not twisting too many arms with having to have this as a double elimination. It could have been 7 hunts before starting the elimination process, one with each team. That was how I originally thought. I got talked out of that quickly by none other than my co-host, Ctown.

After reviewing the Match up and points page at the Dawg Pound website, I now realize that in the next tournament (and I hope there is one) that Secret Squirrel and I will be the two players that Everyone will want on their team. I know...it is going to be tough for all the teams to battle it out over us. Please do so in as friendly manner as possible.

Ok I've said this in a PM but I'm gonna say it here so we're not all confused. There's 5 people on Wish's roster. And on other rosters. That 'I supposed' was meant to allow for flexibility.

I'm not holding anyone up.

Start the next round.

Wish just starts without me, and with Anikka or David.

Right?

That's why you have 5?

If you're going to put pressure on people to finish, when they've committed as much time as humanly possible without giving up sleep, friends and family, then it's not going to be very cheery is it.

I agree with Secret_Squirrel. Now at least 18 people are waiting for his capturing. This IS a pressure which is never good. :(

Capturing after the 6th day we cannot earn any points, so there is no sense to wait for him if Wish on a Star is able to make another team for tomorrow, and everybody feel good if we can start the new round and SS can finish his hunt at his own speed and in his own time.
